The crowd is wild..(at least on one side)

Xia threw his shirt to the crowd.. (is that allowed?)

didnt throw his racket, goes over to hug his coach..

    Strategy worked

So coach Li's "One game win all" and "One game win all except final" strategies worked. Congratulation for Xia won 2 tough matches in rubber and hope Choon Hann can maintain his curent form for future tournaments.
Tomorrow will be better and is time to sleep

Is it the style of Wong CH has weaknesses when he is against Xia Xuanze?
He has lost all his encounters against Xia.
    The puzzle still goes on....

Anyway, congratualtion to WOng CH too, he is the best so far for Malaysia.

    Well, I'm puzzled too!
He played near perfect games versus Sony and Shon, but today he made a lot of mistakes particularly at net during the first game!:(

Wong has very good netshot and amazing offensive skills. but his defense is lacking.

playing against Xia, who has just as good offense, Wong's lack of defense then start to show up as his weakness.

but in anycase, whenever these two steps into the same court, there will always be an amazing attacking game. i don't believe any other two players in history has displayed such a rivalry.

Now the two Chinese WD pairs SHOULD be going all out against each other. If Gao/Huang wins, it will another *Yawn* no brainer.

I think its pretty obvious in this game that WCH's stamina failed him totally.
Everything started to go downhill very fast after that 6 - 6 ding dong with Xia.

Like Kwun said, legs were jelly... and his movements were pretty pratictable.. and
he seemed to arrive a spilt second later fer each of Xia's shots.

Xia didnt have to do much towards the end, just play defensively and wait fer WCH's mistakes. Even I was waiting for WCH's mistakes :) haha..

Looks like the better player did win :)

On a ending note, if WCH keeps this up.. i doubt he'll fail the next final :D

*but as we know.. M'sian players dont seem to be able to keep winning haha..
probably expect a long silence from WCH now hahaha....*

    yinsoon, thanks for the info.

ironic that people always says Xia have bad stamina, this time around, he won the match from outlasting WongCH. prior to this WC, the Chinese team had a 3 months long closed door training session. i bet Xia was working hard on his stamina.

but what a fight, the last 5 points in the 2nd game and the first few points of the 3rd game..... i can't get to watch the video.

Yes, maybe the defence make the different.

While Wong's attacking can penetrate other players defence, he certainly did not make it when he faces Xia.

Both are true champions...they showed how badminton should be played ....right to the last point. WCH tried but he tired out...if he had not made too many mistakes and trailed too far he would stand a chance! 5 points apart and you really struggle!

IMHO, Wong blew all his chances in the first game, by either sending it out or failed in his net play!
    That really made the difference.:(
