What the? I didn't think the umpire could overrule unless the rules have changed.

    WCH 15-12
Lee 16-14! Looks like a good match
    Lin 13-9

    Wong won first game! 15 - 12.

This is beginning to remind me of the Lee Tsuen Seng vs Taufik game in Guangzhou 2002 where Taufik's temper got the better of him and lost.

Quite a long protest there but it was quite unclear whether it's in or out.
This is where Wong's calmness and experience will threaten Sony's concentration.

controversy thr on the line calls... i must admit thr wr few bad calls against WCH bt the last at 13-12 hs great impact on Sony.. he lost concentration and good tht WCH took advantage of the situation with two kills for the last 2 points...

the fanatic jakarta fans are at works again.. the chant of IN-DO-NE-SIA nvr die...

WCH has to adapt to it or it's dangerous for him...

    Thank you, Ants.

Wondering why MAS did not let Lee ChongWei play.
    Maybe Roslin is more experienced...
But I doubt Roslin can beat Taufik...

Lee CW is lower ranked than Wong CH and Roslin.
    It must follow world ranking.

If Lee CW plays Sony, then Hafiz and Lee TS will have to play Taufik and Simon. That's a certain death.

Surprised that the umpire overruled the line judge's call, without protest from the Indonesian side and the Referee called in to mediate. My understanding is that the umpire, unlike in tennis, cannot change the line judge's decision. He can have the LJ changed if necessary.

Wonder which country the umpire is from?

    What a controversy!
