Yes, he also patted Lin Dan's shoulder after shaking hand, guess he think lost to Lin Dan is not that bad after all.

    Yes, he did.
To be precise, Lin Dan went off court straight after giving fives to his team mates before going back to shake hands + a little hug + whispering something to Taufik.

Last but not least, the classic salute to the crowd.

I can sense Taufik lost the desire to play, esp. in the 2nd set, with the thought of the XD lost..Could be fatigue plays a factor also..
It's embarrassing to give up so soon, but this is his weakness, the lack of fighting spirit, or in other words his diligence, esp. when his opponents are able to retrieve his shots, he tends to struggle against those players..Mental toughness..
In comparison, Sony eventhough not as skilled and "smart" as Taufik, but very hard-working and diligent and willing to fight all the way..

2 close and hard-fought games, until the last few pts in the 2nd game..I think for intends and purposes, it's over now..Sorry guys no MD match..

But I want to see Xie. She is a lot cuter. Anyway, either should win very easily. Xie did not play much in this tournament.

Disappointment but the fact! ZN leading 6-0 within a few minute. So No hope at all for MD.

yup:) i mean won't the crowd enjoy the smashing of MD rather than the elegance of WS? especially since ZN can probably win 11-0 if she is totally concentrated throughout

That is definitely true. Xie did/will not play in the two most important (Semi and final) matches. But she has more chances in the future to represent China whereas ZN won't be seeing too many team tournaments left in her career.
