here are, imho, the interesting matches to watch for day 2:

Roslin vs. Polsana Boonsak - defensive vs. defensive. it will be an interesting match to watch. too bad most of us will never get to see it.

LeeTS vs. Jonassen - Jonassen was in pretty good form during the Korean/Japan Open, will be be able to take on Lee?

    Clark/Robertson vs. Chan/Chew -

Choong/Lee vs. Candra/Sigit - this is probably *the* match to watch for the day. thanks to IBF. these two great pairs will clash on the first round.

    Agree.

But I am sure the losing party won't really agree with ur "great thnx" for IBF... hehehehhe... Maybe we will see media got flood again by "improper seeding..."

It's also a shame to see 1 of the great pair have to pack in such early stages.

I will put my bet on Choong/Lee, since Candra / Sigit seem getting inconsistent in big tourny this past yr.

Maybe Mix double seeded 12 Korean players vs Chinese new pair is interesting too.
Because The new Chinese pair keep beating up Zhang Jun/Gao Ling in the internal games. Hehe.

    Ö£²¨/ÕŽàö©£¨Öйú£©-[12]½ðÈÝìÅ/ÀîТÕ꣨º«¹ú£©

    At here it says No9:
    http://www.worldbadminton.net/WCH03mxd.htm
9 Yong Hyun KIM KOR/Hyo Jung LEE KOR
    vs
Bo ZHENG CHN / Jiewen ZHANG CHN

    And they are No.12 here:
    http://217.204.34.207/ibf/testdraw4.asp?eventcode=5/12/034203&chosenclass=MX&main_or_qual=M

    Both are listed here:
    http://www.worldbadminton.net/WCH03.asp

    I guess Kim/Ra is the real No.9.
Do not know what the heck of IBF web is doing.

    :(

    Re: Re: Day 2

Yes, this game should be at quarter/semi final stage level.
    Too bad.
Though I would bet on Candra/Sigit, no offence to many Malaysian fans, somehow I just have an impression that top INA doubles are usually better in most of the recent year tournaments.

    Go Chandra/Sigit!

I must admit that Chandra-Sigit are becoming more unstable lately, but I'm still betting on them. Wish the best for them.

Unfortunately, there's no TV station in Gold Coast, OZ that shows this great sports event! Such a pity for me to only be able to see the results and not the process....anyone knows if I can watch it online?

Another "supposed" to be great match in progress now:
    Shon SM vs Marleve Mainaky

1st game was easily won by Shon 15-2.
Seems like aging Marleve could not cope the competitive pace of badminton anymore.

Yeah! The signs of aging are there, not only for Marleve but also Hendrawan, Peter Gade, Peter Rasmussen and Ong Ewe Hock. Pretty obvious decline in their play over the past 1 year.:(

yeah, but interestingly Hendrawan was hitting the elite level when he was reaching his 30s (he was 28 when he became the saviour of Indonesian team in Thomas Cup final 2000). Pretty late for starting a career in badminton, and that's why it's such a pity for him that he can only enjoy the top board only for awhile.

It's Lee TS vs Kenneth Jonassen in Court 3 now!
    Lee got the opening point.

On court 5, Hafiz is 8 points away from clinching a 2nd round berth with elder brother.

    Go, go, go!:D

It's confirmed! The Hashim brothers will clash in the 2nd round ensuring Malaysia of at least one representative in the last 16.

As expected, it's a ding-dong encountered between Lee TS and Kenneth Jonassen.
Lee TS leading 14-13 in the first game now!
