Wei Yili / Zhang Yawen bt. Yumiko Ogura / Reiko Shiota.

    21-10 / 21-11

Wei/Zhang is a better combination than Wei/Zhao. Zhang has more speed and athleticism than Zhao. kinda like a energizer bunny hopping around the court.. Zhang even pulled off one full fledge jumpsmash in the middle of the game.

the Japanese pair however, was slightly disappointing. an disadvantage with stiff footwork, and racket handling that lack fluidity. this results in poorer defense as well as inconsistency.

Actually it seems to me the Jap girls lost because they severely lack offense power. When they did three smashes in a row, usually they won the point. However the problem is that they really do not have this ability. I think the Jap girls have better defense than Wei/Zhang. I agree that Wei/Zhang is a better pair. They seem the following the same philosophy: fast, powerful and keep things simple. Also Wei's experience is important. She is so calm throughout the game. btw, I noticed that the Jap girls' coach is not Jubong Park. Since they are Jap's 1st LD, there must be some reason I guess? Anyone knows?

Boonsak and Chen Jin again? I'm sure Boonsak would love to avenge his defeat to Chen Jin in AE this year. Or would history repeat itself? Yannie would definitely prefer leggy Chen Jin to win~:D
