I just watched the last game of the fu,cai/bach, gunawan match. very well played by the um...USA pair:p

cai yun's forehand defence came under a lot of pressure, and it proved to be a great tactic. he favours the backhand grip in defence (most of us do i suppose) and he couldn't get the shuttle crosscourt when he was on the right side of the court. both US players lined up straight across the net from him (leaving a massive gap on the other side of their court) and hit it at cai until it was on the floor. very very effective:eek:

also great retrieving by bach and gunawan, totally frustrated the chinese into clearing when their smashes and drops kept coming back. oh well...they need to work on their placement of attacking shots, and not to get frustrated by players returning their "un-returnable" shots.
