Washed out?? CTJCAD... wake up pimp... these players are all in top 20 and most of them in top 10.. Xia is still in my opinion second best in china and Lee Chong wei is now ranked 1st in Malaysia. As said before this tournament is based on intertaining the crowd not to gain money og ranking points and this "old" players know how to entertain... Your arguments just shows that you don't know a thing about this sport, perhaps you should sit down and listen to some of the clever people in here.
Enough of the bashing! Let's be civilized, and let's not resort to name-calling, OK? Each and everyone is entitled to his/hers opinion. Let's respect that opinion, however incomprehensible you might find it. I'll just add that the tournament starts tomorrow (monday), and I'll be there on tuesday, and I plan on enjoying myself.
Surprise, surprise... Wong CH beat Taufik Hidayat 15-6, 15-8 Wondering if Taufik takes this invitational meet as his Christmas vacation. Not his usual self to lose so easily to Wong CH. Lets see how he measures up later on against Peter Gade.
JR/LP won 15-9, 17-14 The young Malaysians were leading by comfortable margins throughout the 2nd game and held game point at 14-9, but allowed the Danes to crawled back and scored 8 points in a row and eventually took the match. The same scenario as in SO earlier, where they led junior Korean pair but ended up losing 17-16 in the rubber. Seems like they have weak mental (typical Malaysian sportsmen syndrome)
Thanks for the updates, whizkelv! It's weird, I'm in Lund in the very south of Sweden, and somebody in Malaysia is relaying info from a tournament that's only an hour away... Are you watching a live broadcast? Danish TV is broadcasting live, but only in one of their digital channels -- which we can't get here. This means I'll have to wait for the 1 hour highlight that's coming on one of the major Danish channels tonight. Only the finals will be live in a major channel... And good work, Kenneth! It's the third time he beats LCW now. And Taufik just doesn't seem to perform well in the Masters, maybe he sees it as holiday as somebody suggested! On the other hand, WCH always seems to be in his prime at the Masters, he always plays well there, and always seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself.
