I think Wong Miew Choo has got a chance, she has improved quite a bit since I saw her. However, Julin Mann is also playing well. Ladies doubles also stand an outside chance, but England is strong in that department.

Oh My God! Why did they break the No. 3 pair in the world and make a scratch pair? malaysia would have won... but too bad...

Plain arrogance and stupidity. BTW, they are world no. 2, not 3.

Chan-Chew have dropped another rung to no. 3 in the latest world ranking (dated 25 July 2002). The top Korean's win in Taipeh has enabled them to leapfrogged past our pair.

Anyway, that's exactlt their true standard. Based on recent months form, they deserved to be in the top 5 but definitely not no 1 or no 2.

Ha-Kim and Chandra-Sigit are still the best pairs in the world.

Agreed. Those 2 are more consistent than Chan/Chew. Hopefully, they play to their true standard this time round.

The thing i like the most about Candra/Sigit is that they have the ability to turn their defense into immediate attack. As well, both players are very strong in all areas of the court. For example, smashing its obvious that Sigit is the agressor in this pair but if you see Candra partner Tony who was a setter, Candra still managed to generate the power and accuracy to finish the rallies off.

This is my reason for liking the Candra/Sigit pairing. Candra/Tony's games are always very long and usually 3 set games.

*SIGH* why did Tony retire...... Really miss those Candra/Sigit VS Tony/Halim finals. eg All England 2000 finals

Chan-Chew will never be the best unless Chew could uplift his standard to Kim Moon-soo or Kim Dong-moon's level.
As seen in many tournament, Chew is often the cuplrit in the loss... too erratic!

Perhaps they can still beat the top Chinese and Danes, who are equally vulnerable but to match the mighty Indonesians and Koreans, we need 2 "Chan Chong Ming"s in a pair.
