    LOL, that's good ones guys.:p

In regards to the thread starter, PG lost to LCW in straight sets in Spore Open in June 2008, though PG did give a good fight. If PG had played LCW swhere along the line this OG, LCW would have won. Or came up against Chen Jin, Bao Bao, PSH, all ard 6 to 8 years younger than PG.

Age has caught up with PG, he himself said so in SO.

Winning silver is determine by whether a player get into the final match or not. In this OG LCW played very well to defeat 3 formidable players to get into final. He certainly deserve the silver medal. PG played well too in this OG especially agaisnt LD but it should not be a yardstick to measure if he deserve silver more than LCW.

If PG get to played at the other half there is no telling he can get pass LCW. Overall LCW is a more superior player than PG although PG is still a good player.

Outsider can debate base on "if" senario but there is no end of it.

Medals are not decided on points. If they were, Ng Wei won as many points as Gade (29) against Lin - does this mean Ng Wei Deserves the Medal that Gade does?

Whether PG pushed LD harder than NW, PSH, LCW is an objective opinion. Your opinion is that Gade deserves a Medal. My opinion is that CJ, LCW & LD deserve the medals, this is reflected in rankings and recent results.

The facts are he, NW, PSH or any other player except CJ & LCW doesn't.

If there is a medal for lifetime achievement (like in Oscars), I'd give one to PG.

Taufik can also go to the sourvenier shop for his own gold medal too, but he already has his own good one:D

Another comment: Lee Chong Wei has earned the #2 seed status for this tournament through his past 12 months of hard work and tremendous results achieved in various tournaments. He earned the rights to not face Lin Dan until the finals. Peter Gade didn't accomplish that, and the price he has to pay is that if he's not lucky enough, he will have to face Lin Dan in the earlier rounds. Unfortunately for Peter Gade luck of the draw wasn't on his side and he has to face Lin Dan in the quarter finals.

From what I've read, Peter Gade is a gentleman and has very good sportsmanship. I wouldn't be suprised if he sincerely congratulates Lee Chong Wei for winning the silver and Chen Jin for winning the bronze and feel happy for them.

I really don't know what you're talking about, LCW for sure deserve that silver medal.

I'm not a LCW fan, but he played excellent that OG. Just because the score wasn't close doesn't that he doesn't deserve it. If you're just looking at scores, then it should had been Chen Jin who should had gotten the Silver.

I think this thread should be closed. Its very insulting to Lee Chong Wei, who trained so hard to get where he is to be condemned in such a manner. He has every right to be in the final, so I dont know what nonsense is this that he doesnt deserve the silver medal.
It's true he didnt play as well as we expected him, but I'm sure he tried his best.

    Jason.

LCW played in the gold medal match for a reason, and the last time I checked, if you can get there, you deserve at least a silver medal.

As my posts have stated I am inclined to agree with you. The OP has his opinion and I think all sides of the discussion have had their points put across, and the counter arguments from OP and responders have been duly made. People who have not had time to reply can decide of their own accord with a post.
