I noticed KKK/TBH also skip this tourny....i tot they will play since India Open had cancelled............that's mean they would only play in JO only...:crying:
But TO is right after the JO right? or maybe they should skip the Kedah Open...to let the younger player to compete...they should concentrate more in the international curcuit...
Kedah Open is for all the seniors and juniors. I think this KO is the most participated event for local circuit. Thanks to the cancelation of India Open.
But i am so disappointed to see the draws.. many BYE... Walkover.. And no second round for WS &WD.. Its signal how weak MAS in Women's DEpartment
This year, China has announced that they will not participate the event and they will not send anyone there in the Taipei open.
They already got the visa approval a week ago so visa is not the problem; the politics is. (It's something to do with the ongoing olympics case) So, at the end, china badminton association just turned down the whole game. No china team members will go.
internationalbadminton.org has put up an announcement that there will be a re-draw on Monday due to the sheer number of withdrawals. In the MS, I don't think Chen Hong will be withdrawn since he's no longer in the national team. Moreover, this is becoming more like a home event for him considering that his wife is from Chinese-Taipei So, he will rise up to be the top seed, followed by Lee Chong Wei. Good news for Sony Dwi Kuncoro as he and Peter Gade will make up the top 4. Taufik Hidayat will also now be among the top 8 seeds. With Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun, Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo and Shen Ye/He Hanbin missing in the draw, Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan will be the top seed in MD. Good news too for Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki as they just make it to the main draw. I also hope that Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi are given a favorable draw, after very bad draws in recent tourneys. Hopefully Kido/Hendra, AG/Joko, Luluk/Alvent and possibly Rian/Yoke will be in the QF. The most drastic changes will be in WS. Now, Wang Chen and Pi Hongyan will be the top 2 seeds, followed by Wong Mew Choo and Yao Jie. The top seed in the WD will be the home pair Chien Yu-Chin/Cheng Wen-Hsing, followed by Kumiko Ogura/Reiko Shiota. This will be good news for Jo Novita/Greysia Polii and Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir (esp since Vita/Butet are originally drawn to face Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen in the second round) In XD, He Hanbin/Yu Yang and Xu Chen/Zhao Tingting's withdrawals mean that Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita just make it to be seeded 8th (very good!). They should fulfill their seeding and with some luck, make it to the last 4.
