Starting with the MD Qualifying Draw:
Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki have to qualify first, playing 2 matches and these are reasonably tough matches: Mohd Arif Latif/Lim Fang Yang in the first one and possibly Lim Khim Wah/Mak Hee Chun.

Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen finally return...after a long absence and they also face two tough matches: against Chan Peng Soon/Chan Hun Pin and possibly Tesana Panvisvas/Songphon Anukritayawon for a place in the main draw.

Fang Chieh-Min/Lee Sheng Mu and Khoo Chung Chiat/Mohd Razif Abdul Latif are possibly the other two qualifiers that will make it to the main draw.

    The MD Main Draw:
Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun (1) are likely to cruise through to QF facing Glenn Warfe/Ross Simith and either Shen Ye/He Hanbin or Tadashi Ohtsuka/Keita Masuda in the first two rounds. Their QF opponently is likely to be Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man (8), although the Korean pair has to beat Tan Bin Shen/Ong Soon Hock first in the second round.

Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen (3) will have a tough first tie against Albertus Susanto Njoto/Yohan Hadikusumo Wiratama. The winner will entertain either Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan or a qualifier for a place in the QF. It will be very good if Bona/Ahsan are to win 1 match here.

The other quarter-finalist is likely to Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto (6). The INA pair will have to beat Chew Choon Eng/Hong Chieng Hun and possibly the DEN pair Simon Mollyhus/Anders Kristiansen.

In the other half, Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi yet again face a tough draw, with their opponent being Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo  The CHN pair just beat them in the WC. The winner will entertain either Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif (8) or Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Hendra Wijaya for a QF spot. This is probably the most competitive quarter as anyone is likely to make it to the last 8.

The WC silver-medallist Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae (4) have an easy first round tie against Hui Wai Ho/Alroy Tanama Putra and will meet either Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki (if they do qualify) or Sudket Prapakamol/Phattapol Ngernsrisuk for a QF spot.

The last quarter is relatively straight forward. Despite not being seeded, I think Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen can make it to the quarter-final at the expense the WC bronze-medallist Shuichi Sakamoto/Shintaro Ikeda (7). Unless of course Sakamoto/Ikeda perform brilliantly yet again

The last QF should belong to the current World Champion Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (2). However, they face tricky matches against Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (if the DEN pair does qualify) and Anthony Clark/Robert Blair. Remember, they haven't win against the veteran ENG pair

    The XD Main Draw:
The top two seeds are INA pairs: Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir (1) and Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa (2). Nova/Butet will begin their defense of the title against Svetoslav Stoyanov/Elodie Eymard. They are likely to meet their team mate Mohd Rijal/Greysia Polii in the second round, provided Rijal/Greysia beat the SIN pair Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Li Yujia. Nova/Butet's QF opponent should be Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Yu Mi (8). Lee/Hwang is likely to meet Lingga Lie/Nitya Krishinda if the INA pair qualifies.

Meanwhile, Flandy/Butet will also face a qualifier in the first round and possibly their counterpart Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita in the second round  Devin/Vita first have to take care of the Asuncion siblings in the first round. Quite a bad draw for both Rijal/Greysia and Devin/Vita  If Flandy/Butet can qualify to the QF, they should meet another KOR pair Han Sang Hoon/Lee Hyo Jung (7). A very tough tie considering Han/Lee performed well in the Sudirman Cup

The match of the first round should be between He Hanbin/Yu Yang (4) and Lee Yong Dae/Ha Jung Eun. The winner should qualify for the QF to take on Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl (5).

The INA junior pair Tantowi Ahmad/Yulianti is given a relatively good draw, facing Hendra Wijaya/Jiang Yanmei in the first round. Should they beat the Singaporean pair, they will likely face Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam (3). However, the Thai no 1 pair has a tricky first tie against Jens Eriksen/Helle Nielsen.

Finally, Xu Chen/Zhao Tingting (6) should make it to the QF with ties against Chen Hong-Ling/Chou Chia-Chi and either Tan Wee Kiong/Woon Khe Wei or the recently crowned US Open champion Keita Masuda/Miyuki Maeda.

I think LYD/HYM didnt work out well though they won last year thai open,Somemore HYM has never paired with LJJ,so maybe we can say this is an experiment. However the pair that Im looking forward to seeing is Han Sang Hoon/Lee Hyo Jung.

This is a GP Gold event yet the glittering cast looks like it's an SS event. Do the points count towards OG08? Just realised there's a max of 16 per category to qualify for Olympics so it's rather competitive.

With less than a year left into Beijing Olympics . Why did they need to separate their XD formation ? Every new partnership started with minimum ranking points.. Unless the rational pointing of each players is apply for the Olympics as in SS ranking system, then the KOREAN should feel safe with the respective players have earn quite a remarkable points in their previous partnership.

MS -- Possible clash between LD-Sony will happen in QF. Can Sony take a revenge? Unfortunately, Sony and Simon must face each other in third round. TH who grouped at bottom-half will test MAS' youngster Tan Chun Seang and probably meet Chen Jin in 3rd round encounter.

Andreas-Ari Wahyu-Andre Tedjono will find hard obstacles in early round such as Ng Wei,Park Sung Hwan and Bao Chunlai respectively.

Yes, that's good for a laugh. TPO07 is the second consecutive tournament after JO07. How can the old sultan reach the final unless he exits JO07 early? Better to aim for 'good results first' which nowadays seems to be getting past the second round. And he won't get past CJ but he'll wow the crowd with exhibition badminton.

Looking at both TO and JO draws, the probability of MS winner being CHN is high with all their top guns entered for both opens and spread out in the draws.
