Chinese Badminton

XU Wen Jing managed to beat the 3rd seed but her game has weaknesses. She makes too many mistakes at the net and returns half court defensive returns. She needs to improve on these. She also needs a stronger smash. She has potential though.

Maybe not used to the different food there.

Food shouldn't be a problem. There are many Chinese-owned restaurants in Pontianak. Humidity should pose a bigger problem for players from colder parts of the world because the equator runs right through Pontianak.
Pontianak is a very interesting place to visit. There are many Hakka Chinese there, probably descendants of the miners who founded the Lanfang republic which ruled that part of Borneo for about 110 years, but was not recognised as part of the Chinese Empire by the Qing Government.
Back to badminton. I find Xu Wenjin very inconsistent and very error-prone. Her footwork is not the nicest to watch too.

What is the background of the newly elected officials of CBA

Zhang Xin

Doesn’t seem to be a badminton person.

In the on-going 2026 Chinese National Individual Championship, the man's single semifinals are dominated by players born in 2007-2008, namely Luo Jingyi (2008) , Liu Yang Mingyu, Li Zihang and Bai Jiajun (2007)
Luo beat Lei Lanxi (21-15,21-11). Yesterday Liu Yang Mingyu beat Wang Zheng Xing (21-13,21-13). Zhao Junpeng lost in an earlier round while Xiao Gaobo lost to Lei Lanxi in the round of 16. The draw started with 256 slots.
Yin Yiqin, Zhang Yixing, Zhan Jinyun (2007) and Cai Yanyan will contest the woman's semifinals.
Senior players did not participate.

Who is Bai Jia Jun? Never seen or heard of him taking part in any tournament at the junior level. What surprised me was when he demolished 2026 AJC champion, Hong Tianyue, 21-8, 21-6.

So, all 4 MS semi-finalists were under 20 years of age; 3 out of 4 WS semi-finalists were under 20, Cai Yanyan being the sole 'veteran'. Good for the future, I think.

Well, Yin Yiqing just beat Cai Yanyan 21-19, 21-19 in the WS final. Li Zhihang and Liu Yangmingyu are now engaged in a tight MS final.

Li Zhihang won 21-19, 21-16, beating LiuYang Mingyu for the second time this year. Li was a semifinalist in last year's WJC.

Yes.
Watch the French player in green. He is still 16. but he won the EU U19 championship 2026. The Kylian Mbappe of French badminton. Tall,
tremendous reach and can hit very hard smashes. He is like India's A Shetty. He will be playing in the WJC in Cairo in October. His name is Mady Sow
