I will like to know too.
By the way Zhang Weiyi just defeated Gu Junfeng 21-15. 21-10 in the finals . He defeated Sun Chao 21-15, 6-21 and 22-20 in the 1/4 finals.

Selectors have their criteria and reasons, I suppose; rather competitive scene.

Have many doubts regarding their selections
They have disposed cai yannyan form 1st team last year. But now they are bringing back her. Also, she doesn't have any ranking points now.

We cannot rule out the fact that some of the players choose not to play badminton professionally. They just want to represent their provinces and concentrate on their studies or jobs. This is what a coach I spoke to said.

I watched the world jr championships last year and was not very impressed with the CHN MS players there. TPE, KOR and THA had one outstanding MS player each but CHN didnt.

Pan Yin Long is reasonably good and physically strong for being 16 years old so there may be some hope for him I must say to not sound too harsh

I think Sun Chao is the currently best junior player in China and he didn't participate in last junior world championship.

I read that there will be a kind of selection tournament soon. Quarterfinalists from the 2 recent tournaments are eligible to compete for first team places. Dates of birth must be between 2000 and 2004; I think Gu Junfeng might be 1999.

Then sun chao will not get the chance because he was born in 2005.

The pair apparently have quite problematic injury issues. Some time back, Zhang Jun expressed uncertainty as to whether the pairing can continue.

Any thoughts or insights into Zhu Yi Jun, who was impressive at the last WJC.
Is he playing league in china? If yes, can someone link me to his results?

Following this youngster’s career with great interest. She’s now on a 37 matches winning streak - winning Malaysian international series and now in the final of Indonesian master. She defeated the top seeded Japanese pair and fourth seeded Thai pair rather easily in this tournament.

Also, she has never been defeated since she started her international career. Has there been a stronger international debut ever? Doubt so.

I agree that Zhang Shu Xian and Liu Sheng Shu are a great doubles pair. Their partnership is well balanced.
    They will go far.
Whoever is working on the doubles, be it XD, WD or MD chinas doubles game has improved tremendously.
Hats off to the people in charge.

However apart from SYC there has not been any talents appearing in the MS category.
But Malaysia seems to fare better. Wby are the new crop of juniors not participating in tournaments.
