he he he it pops up into mind that this impossibility will be very "fascinating" to watch if Ma Jin ever plays as a pair with Zhao Yunlei ... how is like then?? :D

    The depth in women's double

It's amazing to see how China team can shuffle the WD with so many combinations that basically the sudden no ranking pair may still be proven as the stronger one against the ROW. I guess even the far from ideal pair such as Ma/Zhao may still perform effectively and deliver positive outcome.

    China fielding the full power

    .
CHINA WOMEN TEAM - CHINESE TAIPEI WOMEN TEAM

1 WS1 Xuerui LI - Tzu Ying TAI

    2 WD1 Yixin BAO/Jinhua TANG - Wen Hsing CHENG/Pei Chen HSIEH

3 WS2 Shixian WANG - Chia Hsin LEE

    4 WD2 Yunlei ZHAO/Xiaoli WANG - Pei Rong WANG/Wen KUO YU

5 WS3 Yihan WANG - Yu Po PAI

Wow! China take no chance, they really mean business by fielding their full power line-up against the Chinese Taipei in the last group match. They definitely look for a clean sweep.

cant help but notice that Ma Jin still has not been fielded. Any thoughts on the thought process of the WD teams? I dont think they are saving her and would have thought that they would want her to get some experience in another Uber cup given the 2010 disappointment. But the matches against russia, england, and even taipei could have been an easy win for both MJ and the team.

WANG Xiaoli/ZHAO Yunlei are even more lethal than BAO Yixin/TANG Jinhua.

The fact that they field WXL/ZYL instead WXL/Ma Jin say a lot that ZYL fits the pair better.

WXL/MJ is more like a XD team. Obviously ZYL is a better all-round player.

I thought this TC/UC is more fun to watch because Chinese men are not as dominated as before. But looking at other teams who are either lack of depth or very inconsistent, I think China will win both TC and UC again easily.

May agree for Uber Cup, but for Thomas Cup, it has much opened end! This situation adds the thrilling factor to the tournament :)

    3 WS2 WANG Shixian - Sarah WALKER

    4 WD2 ZHAO Yunlei/WANG Xiaoli - Heather OLVER/Kate ROBERTSHAW

    5 WS3 WANG Yihan - Panuga RIOU

    * Note: the TS wrongly puts TANG Jinhua twice, both in WD1 and WD2; i believe it should be ZYL who plays in WD2.

Seems SUN Yu won't get chance to be fielded in subsequent matches, CHN still relies on the old, reliable guard!

5 WS3 WANG Yihan - KIM Hyo Min

    * Both teams have no slightest change on their line-ups; the most obvious one is KOR playing BYJ as WS2 even though the H2H of WSX - BYJ is very skewed... 11-0 to date!

on paper, i really don't see how it is possible for Korea to win this one.

head to head for WS1 is 5-0
head to head for WD1 is 1-0
head to head for WS2 is 11-0

    the rest is 0-0

I don't think Japan beat the best team of China thomas cup team 2014. The order that the chinese team could field the players did not reflect their true ability. I believe the true order should be Lin Dan, Chen Long and Du Peng yu in Men singles and Fu Hai Feng/Zhang nan followed by Qi/Liu in Men double. Chen Long is a very good player but can crumble under pressure (like what happened previously in 2012 Olympic semifinal and 2013 China national games) and therefore is not the best first chinese men single to set the tone for the rest of the game. I am not sure why LYB fielded CB and HW who can crumble under pressure as first men double to face world number 3. In opinion they should field Qiu/Liu. I wonder if they would like to rest Qiu/Liu to play Indonesia in final.... They should think about Japan first before Indonesia.

From what I can see, Japan grabbed the golden chance to beat the Chinese team who had trouble to field their player according to their true ability.
