from the official website....

(Guangzhou, November 25) On November 25, 2007, in the Women's single final of the China Open Badminton, Malaysian player Mew Choo Wong won the champion by beating Chinese player Xie Xingfang 2-1. This match is of the highest level among the matches in which Mew Choo Wong won champions.
In view of the score records of matches between the two players, Xie Xingfang won more successes and her sole loss was in the World Championships held in Malaysia in this August. Moreover, Xie defeated Mew Choo Wong in their latest match-French Open. Therefore, for the winner of this champion, the public leans to Xie.
However, the process of the match was out of expectation. In the first set, Mew Choo Wong won with 21-16. In the second set, Xie changed her tactics and soon set the pace, finally Xie won this set with 21-8. "In the second set her (Xie Xingfang) speed was fast and I could hardly follow her pace." Mew Choo Wong said that when Xie changed her tactics in the second set she still used the previous ones, thus she quickly fell into a passive situation, "She almost controlled the situation, and then I gave up this set."
The third set is the decider one. Mew Choo Wong said that it was hard for her at the beginning. "At the beginning of the third set I was also in a tumultuous situation. I even did not know how to cope with her. And I felt that my performance was not as stable as in the first set." Xie changed the side of the playground with 11-8, after which Mew Choo Wong won a draw with 13-13. "At that time, I did well on aspect of mind control. I told myself that I went through hardships to enter the final, therefore I could not give up and I must try my best to leave myself no regrets." Finally, Mew Choo Wong won this set with 21-17 and won the champion.

Please remember that Wong Mew Choo is more than just winning the title. She is more than just beating XXF. Take a look at her path to final and compare that to XXF path. XXF had a much easier path.

So remember, Wong Mew Choo victory is a lot more than just winning XXF and winning the title. She has to exhausted her self to the maximum limit before putting herself to the ultimate final test. To me, she has won 4 titles beating all the top players before playing and beating the best player at the end.

Its a big difference between playing all the second best players before win the best player and just winning the best player. Now Wong Mew Choo is the best woman player and she has made Malaysia so proud.

To Wong Mew Choo, Thank You for all the hard works. You have made us so proud.

100% agree.. WMC keep it up !!!

LOL. That's really funny translation. "Change side of playground"

Hai guys..I'm just coming back..very late to comment..I feel sorry for what have happened with LCW and CHina SS in general.
Of course I feel happy to know INA won 2 titles in front of Chinese public, but I do feel what particularly MAS fans feel, let us just hope this things wouldn't be happened in next HKG SS..congrats to all winners
Thinking positively, CHN never be beaten and lost 3 titles in front of their public before, so it was kinda reflection of panic from Chinese side that they made cheating with false line judgement and error calls :D, surely this result in their homeground for them is really horrible..so you all should be proud of ur country reps to break up the Chinese wall in this tourney..
congrats LCW, WMC, Kindra and Nolyn..INDONESIA JAYA!! :D:D:D

i AM SO GLAD that i missed most of the actions & argument from QF onwards.. (I am travelling oversea) :)
Congrats to all the winners, deserved it or not... A win is always a win.
Let's hope for a better tomorrow....

Of course, the makers of the laws didn't envision a scenario in which the umpire and the line-judges are partners-in-crime :D

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Love it!!!

Nobody wanna see it! People want JUSTICE… We love the game & we wont let THIS INJUSTICE spoil the game image !!!! If this continue BAdMINTON might be booted out of Olympic next time!

After the incident, Olympic committees may decide to pull badminton out from Olympic event since it does not meet the standard for sport spirit.
