Not sure about warming up but LD can benefit from a practice match against LCW's new tactics before the more important CO.But who knows LCW may be naughty and stick to old game or not make it to finals.
Yes but it also said he is not feeling the pain at the moment -- so I am pretty certain he will be there because the money is good, which is something he was reported as saying too.
If i were him , i will go as well. Anyway why have to play so hard when u already have pocketed some cash by just going?
But I think once you go, the others are out to gun you down and claim your scalp to boast -- so he will have to save his reputation by playing harder.
Who knows Taufiki's condition now?I hope he can go into finals in China Open.He needs a champion to improve confidence before Olympic game.
Yes, and we are all waiting for a repeat top class performance from LCW....and this time hopefully he can tame LD in his own backyard...
Poor Zhao TingTing. She always change her partner. I think this is the fourth time she change the partner, Yang Wei, Yu Yang, Gao Ling. Forgot one name she paired before Yang Wei. I have no idea what is in LYB's mind with ZTT. I think she is not bad for WD or XD player, but I think she can not break through No.1 in the world. Huang Sui probably retire after badminton is not her 1st priority... I am not sure about it... But, she only played in few SS tournaments and absent in 2 last SS....
Think on the positive side, Zhao Tingting is considered very lucky as the Chinese coaching staff is still trying to pair her up with someone very good. Remember how Zhang Jiewen was treated when they split her up? Partnering with Gao Ling is better than anyone else unless Zhao can't take the lecture from Gao Ling.
TH is preparing himself for OG...He is letting other top players (LD, LCW, CJ, Bao) win as many SS titles as possible in the lead to the OG.... They all will realize that that OG Gold Medal 2008 belongs to TH...
I like taufik and have many game record about him in my computer. He has overall technique.Watching his each match is a good enjoyment. But as for me,Beijing 2008 is very difficult for him. Good luck to him.
As I said, I think any of the top players, including TH, still have a chance to win the Olympic title. We still have more than 10 months to go and it really depends on who peaks at the right time. And it now boils down to how they strategize or plan their training schedule to peak at the right time during the BO. So even if some of them will not win any major titles along the way to the BO, it really should not be of great concern, so long as they remain at the apex.
You will never know.. maybe the Gold medalist in OG 08 may not be the person or players who is the favourites to win it.
TH is just getting points now He can raise his ranking just be attending every tournament. Just check out the most recent ranking, he is No. 6 now. Sony No. 7 and Simon No. 10. So on the other hand TH really has pressure to play as many tournament as possible, otherwise he may lose his OG spot. So we cannot really judge TH's form according to his recent record. This very unfit guy is playing as many (if not more) tournaments than the very fit LD and LCW. So it's natural that he cannot recover from fatigue and got knocked out early. After May 1 2008, TH can have 3 months of "tournament-free" time. Can he boost his stamina before OG? Let's wait and see.
Either he or Sony Dwi Kuncoro might creep up to no 4 by the Olympics to get himself a favorable seeding and avoid the top guns at least before the SF. Peter Gade will lose a lot of points from the Malaysia Open Super Series, while Chen Jin could also lose the points from Swiss Open Super Series. Poor Simon Santoso, unless he can rise up above either Sony or Taufik, he will not qualify for the Olympics despite his top 10 ranking. The same thing might apply for Chen Yu and Chen Hong. The possible qualifiers as of today (38 in total, including 2 invited players): China (3): Lin Dan, Bao Chunlai, and possibly Chen Jin Malaysia (2): Lee Chong Wei, either Wong Choong Hann, Lee Tsuen Tseng or Mohd Hafiz Hashim Indonesia (2): Taufik Hidayat, Sony Dwi Kuncoro or Simon Santoso Denmark (2): Peter Gade, Kenneth Jonassen Thailand: Boonsak Ponsana Singapore: Ronald Susilio or Kendrick Lee Yen Hui Hong Kong: Ng Wei or Chan Yan Kit Japan: Shoji Sato Korea: Park Sung Hwan Poland: Przemyslaw Wacha India: Anup Sridhar Holland: Dicky Palyama England: Andrew Smith Wales: Richard Vaughn Canada: Andrew Dabeka New Zealand: John Moody German: Bjorn Joppien Vietnam: Nguyen Tien-Minh Czech: Petr Koukal Spain: Pablo Abian Ireland: Scott Evans Algeria: Nabil Lasmari France: Simon Maonoury Finland: Ville Lang Portugal: Marco Vasconcelos Austria: Juergen Koch Ukraine: Vladislav Druzchenko Sweden: Magnus Sahlberg Switzerland: Cristian Boesinger Chinese-Taipei: Hsien Yu-Hsin Lithuania: Kestusis Navickas
