Yep. Could revert to his old inconsistent self. That's why I rate Axelsen and Srikanth ahead of him. Even LCW at his best looks more threatening.

But a great win nevertheless. Don't think only 1 SS will change Wang Shixian's mind, it will take another 4 or 5 SS.

I was the one predicting CL win in the morning..yet yesterday people are so gloom and doom about his chances.. thats why i said is it so easy to beat CL?

But after seeing the comments after his win its disgusting. Even some people putting down the most consistent players this year. I feel the world is upside down.

    The bias is unbelievable.

It's more like uncertainty in their own mind, it's more like "peer pressure", it's more like they don't know what to say and how to say, it's more like they themselves are unsure of what they believe, it's more like they are stupid :p ok maybe the last one was too much but yeah so to speak

The words after his WC loss are echoing in the background. How spineless people can be and how easily they get "carried away" :p

Seems like we have Old gen vs New Gen
rivalry here. Both doesn't want to lose, it isn't fair to call them stupid.

According to you, it's so noble of LCW to sacrifice himself for Lin Dan's sake, and LD was so mean as not to attend his wedding, whatever the excuse. Btw, did LCW attend LD's wedding? No, iirc, can't remember the reason LCW gave. And the two are still so pally (outwardly).

2011 China Open LD would beat China Open 2017 Chen Long.

Indian Media believes Srikanth is far better than Viktor Axelsen. Do you too believe so?

Lol go and read it again, stupidity is when you go on rambling around and then after an "unfavorable" event starts trafficking the other side.
Plus, nope there's nothing like new gen vs old gen. The second simply says what I said in mine.

No way. SK is a consistent ss player, but VA is on different level already.

INDIAN MEDIA? Are you sure you aren't generalizing the entire section by a mere post or article on the internet which might've remotely addressed anything as bizzare as that?
I am afraid you need more references to claim that.

Actually no, if they actually did that ,I'll be happy. They don't give enough importance to badminton, let alone comparing two people on the basis of their recent rivalry. Btw do you beleive that?

Mostly Newspapers. Srikanth was termed as ''Badminton Ka Baadshah'' in October by NBT, HT and TOI.

The thing is both galaxyduo and I, as well as a few others here, cared more about how Chen Long played and won, not just that he won the CO'17 title.

In my humble opinion, Chen Long is back to about 90-95% of his best as at the Rio Olympic where I believe he reached his pinnacle.

Of course, he may revert to his inconsistent self again as in the last one year, or even flop next week at the HK Open. So what ? It's his loss if he doesn't maintain his form but that in no way mean his achievements so far count for little or nothing.

How many players in their lifetime can boast of 1 WC or 1 OG and a host of PSS/SS titles? You can count on the fingers of one hand. Don't forget, in 2015, he was the most successful player, winning like 7 titles including the WC'15 and awarded BWF Male Player of The Year 2015.

Those Indian mainstream media just want to whip up nationalist fervour for their self-serving agenda of the power elites, and to pander to the general populace starved for worldclass success stories to divert attention away from the more serious issues back home. Take it with a pinch of salt.

I think we are into exciting times again in MS.
So many good players from different countries who can beat each other, depending on their form and the circumstances.

Which different level? The level when he lost to SK in Denmark with a score of 21-7 in the 3rd game?
Wow. Just wow. First let Victor prove his consistency. I can clearly say that he is still not good to beat some of the top guys that includes srikanth and Chen long. That may go either way.

I don't see SK winning any majors like World or OG. He is a consistent SS player.

And what I meant by different level is players like VA, CL, LD could push the boundaries in major tournaments, SK lacks that punch. It's just not there.
