    Nozomi Okuhara is slowly getting better. She should be in better shape sometime in 2018. :)

    true, but she would have lost 440 points in her bwf ranking if she withdrew. this way she did not gain or lose points because 2,660 for rd 1 loss will remain her lowest of 10 tournament totals. i believe she wants to maintain a top 8 overall ranking as best as she can for better draws. it makes perfect sense to me.

    i think natsir is the undisputed women's xd goat. 1st wc in 2005, still at the top, carrying her male partner for over half of her career.

    She also lacks the experience of 6? world championship medals and so on. I don't think it's really a fair comparison.

    She didn't make the rules. I can see why she'd want to avoid a repeat of earlier this year, where we were getting final-worthy matches in round 1.

    What does Ong do best? Doesn't smash hard like GVS, doesn't have special shots like GVS....any Malaysian here bothered to explain?
