    Different last name but same family name??..

    surname=last name/family name.
    Her last name/surname is Li??
    Your last name/surname is Lee??
    or is it just a matter of spelling??
    :confused:

    Currently, there is a shift to spell Lee as Li, as they do it in China

    .
    In the past, in Malaysia, Taipei and Korea, they spelt their Family Name as Lee, for example, Lee Chong Wei, Lee Wan Wah, Lee Sheng Mu, Lee Yong Dae, Lee Hyo Jun, etc...

    Currently, there is a shift to spell Lee as Li, as they do it in China.

    Changing Lee to Li is clearer for us in Australia. But, changing Suet to Xue, is harder for many of us to read.

    China wants names to be Mandarin based

    .
    That's the thing... China wants their names to be Mandarin based.
    Even my surname is affected... It's been changed from 'Ho' to 'He'. ;););)
