Will China have a diffcult time choosing which 2 XD team to play in the Asia Games? Xie Zhangbo/Zha Yawen will probably get selected, but Zhang Jun/ Gao Ling seem to be going down. Will China still want them to play in it because they have the experience? Or will they want to go with one of the yonger doubles pair (eg. ZhaoTingTing/Xu Chen, Zheng Bo/Yu Yang, etc) who are perfectly capable of beating Zhang/Gao?

Isn't "Bao Bao" Zhou Mi's nickname? If I remember correctly, she got that nickname (or something similar) because she likes to eat buns (bao in Chinese).

Looks like everything has been corrected

I just went to the official site at
    http://www.gzba.org/china_open2006/bszb/mxd10-21-result.asp

    It says Zhang/Gao vs Xu/Zhao 0-2..

    edited:

Oh. I think I see something.

    In the official spreadsheet Results

    http://www.gzba.org/china_open2006/gfxx/mxd10-21-result.xls,

it lists that Zhang/Gao has advanced.

However, if you look at the score, it says they won by 17-21, 19-21. The 21's are pointing towards Zhao/Xu, it's probably a mistake on the spreadsheet. We'll just wait and confirm

    Agree,

The Chinese WS youngster just started compete full time this year. (Minimal 10 tournaments in a year)

They are Lu Lan, Zhu Lin and Jiang Yan Jiao. (Wang Lin, Chen Li, Wang Yi Han only enter 5-8 tournaments this year)

From those 3 younster, the most advanced had to be Zhu Lin. She already won 2 titles and one runner up this year. Too bad he had to retired at QF stage yesterday.

From those 3, the weakest must be Jiang Yian Jiao. Her best achievement is only SF. Lu Lan already won 1 title this year and 2 runner up.

But it a bit complicated that LYB prefer JYJ than Lu Lan and Zhu Lin. JYJ was Chinese thrid singles in Uber Cup and also China WS third player in WC2006, although her anking and achievement is lower than Zhu Lin and Lu Lan.

    I wonder;)

But only 1 year, they are already that good. After 3-4 years, China will at least had one or two players as skillful as ZN or XXF. Scary thought indeed. :D

For LD loss, beside of BCL amazing comeback in second set, LD is probably too tired.

In near one month he play 3 events, about 15-14 matches, win 2 titles and reach CO SF. He simply didn't had extra energy that he usually had. Even XXF cannot or ZN can win 3 titles in one month.

And of course the competition in MS is so tight specially if LD playing his own teammates.

Maybe if LD wanted to win all time, he should try to arrange his tournaments. No need to enter lots of events but try to win all the events he participated. Just like Roger Federer did in tennis. But even Roger Federer had lost this year.
