Even the Chinese crowd is not sure who to root for, only a few tiny voices shouting one or the other's name.

As I expected, Aya Ohori emerges WS Champion, besting her teammate, Saena Kawakami

The best part of today's matches was when Wang Yilu snatched Huang Dongping's racket when his string snapped. Had he won a point from it he would have made greater history than LD losing the 14 consecutive points yesterday. He had everyone in the stadium, including kids. in stitches

Two lop-sided matches for MD and XD, higher-ranked Chen HL/Wang CL also Wang YL/Huang DP as well were too strong for their rivals, it's obvious from the beginning.Three final duels who involved players from same nation were more interesting to watch, quite similar pattern for WS and WD plot, real match happened at deciding game. It's understandable because they know each other well about their opponent strength and weakness. Aya Ohori edged out her younger compatriot Saena Kawakami, second GP Gold title for this pretty young lady after last year THA Open. Also maiden title for China new prospects after five months partnerships since November 2016, Bao YX/Yu XH who defeated more favoured Huang YQ/Tang JH, both of these pairs are expected to be China leading pairs alongside with Chen QC/Jia YF.

Match of final day definitely is men's singles, Tian took first game with more aggressive play then Qiao Bin started to smash all the way in second game. Thrilling atmosphere happened after third set interval break, from 12-16 down the fully-determined and ambitious Qiao leveled the scoreline but Tian grabbed 5 consecutive points to end the clash as Qiao lost his patience at crucial stages. Finally, Tian Houwei ended title drought, such a long time since he won the defunct London GP Gold, October 2013.

Oh, I was mistaken then. I thought WYL was asking HDP to go get her broken racquet changed when it was actually his own racquet strings that's broken. Thanks for the clarification.

    LOL.

Time to give up buddy. THW is too old, and has demonstrated he is incapable of taking the mantle of a Lin Dan or Chen Long.

He is a fine player, hell he may even be an asset in other countries. But he is not capable of being a replacement for Lin Dan or Chen Long, a thing he has amply shown.

He will turn out to be another Wang Zhengming. In fact I think Qiao Bin will also be another Wang Zhengming.

It was shown on TV or livestream, just that I interpreted what happened wrongly. Watch for the replay on youtube or ZhangyuTV.

Here, at 22.05 minutes or 13- 7 of the second set.

The Zhangyu summary clip shows it in slow motion and a small kid in stitches. I am trying to find the Zhanyu clip for you. You are putting pressure on me like LD on his opponents. Haha " link or it didn't happen."

Can't find the Zhangyu summary video. Watch this video.

It shows the incident in slow motion. I must say it is more accurate to say that Wang swop his racket with Huang.

Just goes to show...after winning the match of your life (a la LCW in Rio SF), who has enough left in the tank to win the next day...

Gotta say though...the replay of that net shot landing on QB's head...priceless :p
