PBSI has made 'contract agreement' with Ahsan/Hendra since when they leave the national training early this year, that they will basically still practice together/being under supervision of coach Herry. Their condition is special, shouldn't be used to compared with other players
I see, so basically BAM is saying serves you right, professional players...please source your own expert lol.
even in PBSI Ahsan/Hendra only got this special treatment I believed because of their legendary status and their astonishing achievements to their country.. The rest is like CPS/GLY that need to survive independently. Correct me If I'm wrong. Anyhow, I do agree CPS/GLY is the best bet for MAS to get something for next Olympics. They are the most consistent compared to BAM player. Hope KBS and BAM can find a solution.
A little bit off topic but did anyone notice the body language of CPS and GLY after they got dismantled by Tang and Tse? It's like they are having an off court issue that affected them on court. Chan looked so mad everytime Goh made unforced errors. They didn't even give each other high 5s to motivate each other on!
It's a CPS and CPS pair with an occasional intervention by GLY. In every game with seeded pair, CPS does 90% of the work, inevitably, CPS gets tired, and they lose. Next time you watch them play. Just focus on one player either CPS or GLY, but not both...you will see, ( I am sure you hv notice it already).
I dunno who's got a weaker smash Chan PS or LYD ... what's wrong with Chan's smash recently anyways? Just a loud shout but not as powerful as before. And no fake smash drops at all, unlike Watanabe. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Hahaha yes! He's always going "woah HO! Woah HO!" Then none of his smashes result in a decisive kill. Then someone does a cross block and catches GLY off guard and they lose the point. That sums up their performance from the last month or so...
didn't i read somewhere that whenever he shout, a smash is coming. its like giving opponent an early warning.

err.... 30 mins video... not going to translate word for word... too tedious and my translation is not that good. so point form here. 1. Initially BAM don't put much emphasis on XD as the prize $ is the lowest. it was later changed to be same as MD n WD by BWF. 2. CPS n GLY is the first XD pair of BAM. CPS stopped schooling at age 13 as he had no interest. he joined BAM at 18. both started playing badminton at a very young age, following their fathers. 3. CPS started as a MD n XD player. at around 26-27, he focus on XD as he was getting old to play 2 disciplines. GLY started as WS at 13, then WD/XD (more on WD) at 16. later coach decided to have them focus only on XD.
4. They then talked about their decision to leave BAM. both expressed their sadness over the lack of support/trust from BAM (after some poor results after the Rio), and then leaving BAM after more than 10 yrs there, kinda like leaving a family. CPS said he is more sentimental and think hard over the decision as he has a family to care for. GLY is more of a rational type, hence she don't ponder too long about leaving after BAM hint to her about excluding them in the Tokyo plan. 5. After that they talked about the life as a freelancer/full time professional. Together with Goh/Tan (MD), they will discussed alot and planned together, from getting a coach, training (they began sparring together, but will later join with other freelancer to become a bigger group), which tournaments to join (as they have only 1 coach), the paperworks (BAM rule is to go through state then national setup, instead of direct to BAM). Even though they know the people inside BAM, they still have to go through this channel. 6. The interviewer asked if they encountered any unfairness in treatment from BAM, talking about them not being selected for Sudirman Cup. Both said they respected BAM's decision, and also knew they had lost 7000 ranking points for being left out. Then they mentioned Ahsan/Setiawan and said the situation is different in Indonesia. There the club has a good working relationship with PBSI, so they are able to train with the national team and have access to the facilities and coaches, creating a benign competition.
7. Both talked about the changes in person. GLY said CPS is a bit more mature. CPS said GLY is still as strong-willed (when she set up her mind to do/go this way, she will just go ahead, even if she has to do it alone), so he has to give in to complement her if it is within his acceptable range. Throughout they will also have arguments here and there, but most of the times, he will give in eventually. The interviewer then commented that CPS is more proactive in conversation compared to 3 yrs ago. CPS replied that he talk more now as he has to (from getting sponsors and taking part in events organised by them, interacting with others on getting training ground, etc). 8. GLY is still available. Interviewer asked if CPS is single, will they be dating. Both said none due to difference in personality. On the court, GLY is more of an aggressor type of player, while CPS will cover the empty space, working like a yin-yang partnership. The interviewer then said sometime they looked like bickering on the court. CPS then jokingly asked which of them is often found grumbling. GLY then went on to clear the doubts that she was nagging/scolding CPS. In fact she was discussing about the gameplay except that her body expression looked over-reactive. 9. GLY said CPS is a meticulous type of person. He is able to recognise early when GLY is off-form on the court (good point). But at times he will think too much and thought GLY is having some niggling pain when in fact she is just a bit slow getting into the pace of the game (hence a bad point too). Compare to GLY' s strong-willed, CPS is more conservative. When asked about GLY's bad point, CPS said GLY can be so strong-minded that it is not easy to change her mind on matters. GLY say it is not easy to convince her unless he can produce strong hard facts.
10. Interview asked will they choose a different partner if given the choice. CPS replied it is impossible to tell, but given the achievement they have had together, the decision to pair together is (at least 80%) correct, so he will still choose her. GLY agreed too. Then CPS posed a question to GLY. Many people has said GLY with her quality, she should find a stronger partner. GLY answered that he is the only option in Malaysia. 11. What will they do after retire? CPS said he will like to go into coaching. GLY said she is adventurous and will try different activities. Interviewer asked what question will they ask if they are interviewing themselves. GLY will ask whether she feel any regrets in her life. At the moment, no, as whenever she do one thing, she will ask herself will she regret doing so. CPS will ask himself why after so many years, his service is still poor (GLY joked that maybe he is just not gifted in this area). He has worked very hard, tried many ways, seeking helps from many people, even consulting psychologist, yet he has not improved much. Even if he won a game, he still feel bad if he made several service errors. 12. Lastly the interviewer wish them all the best in their quest to play in Tokyo.
