It's quite common for any humble and down-to-earth Celebrity, Politician and Sports Personality to speak humbly, tell something that can "save face" and avoid embarrassment to their ex during an interview. As far as I know, she is a truly humble and down-to-earth person.
Gossip is gossip. However, it does amaze me how small minded people can be. A person who makes assumptions and considers no other alternatives is a bit stupid (sorry, I couldn't think of a more polite description ). Then again, it is easier to be a troller and hide behind a pseudonym.
GLY herself said she did not want get married so early. Ong been waiting for her for 8 years. Most likely GLY equates marriage to retirement. Not that her knees can last out very long. I've been following GLY's career since her junior days and I think she is more ambitious than Ong. Look at her on court, the fiercest Msia female player.
If you are a Chinese girl (late 20s or early 30s) and in a relationship with your bf for more than 8 years, you will understand the term of "Emotional Security" and I don't have to elaborate more.
My point was Ong would have wanted to get married and GLY declined, wanted to wait, she doesnt want being tied down(and said so herself). You said GLY waiting for proposal like Ong stringing her along, I think it's Ong waiting at the sidelines asking "So when are you ready ? It's been 8 years" And if you are female, you would understand that marriage means settled down/tied for the Asian female . How often the comment from females: "yeah if get married, I cant do this and that anymore.(Cant fly here and there for tournaments for months on end if sportsperson) that's why told my bf later only get married, enjoy single life."

Look like you prefer to gave your own assumptions, you ignore the facts and failed to understand what is "Emotional Security" to a lady in a relationship. Questions and facts for you to digest: Did you witness or ever heard Ong proposed to GLY? If not, why you gave your own assumption? Secondly, it have been more than 8 years and if he wanted to proposed, he have done this earlier in the midst of their 8 years relationship. Lastly, do you know what is his full time career at age 28 other than playing part-time badminton at club level? How much does he earns and how ready he is to propose and step into marriage life? But I'm also very independent and dont subsribe to it. Lots of chinese female in the world, dont assume all subcribe to the same. Independent girls have their own mind and GLY surely is. You speculated on the "emotional security" thingy, so why cant I give my speculation based on all her previous interviews. There were interviews on this, with GLY, on 988 radio and Ai FM, in mandarin. If you have seen/heard/read what she said, you will have different perception on their relationship.
