How watch their performance against China? Are they able to hold their nerves? Please please give a good fight in the final. Its good if they can come out as the winner. Its seems quite difficult to beat the same players twice in the same tournament. I need to jinx INA players:p:p They have lost in the group stage and I hope they do their homework:cool:

I hope they can control their nerves. Do not be too pressure as we know how strong the INA players. Just play your games and reduce the errors.

Players with less mistakes usually win, especially in this high pressure matches.

Last hurrah for Goh Liu Ying, since this will be her last appearance in Olympic games.

Wish her all the best and create a great grand history for Malaysia.

RIO DE JANEIRO: Malaysia is just one step away from an Olympic gold medal after Chan Peng Soon-Goh Yiu Ling (pic) qualified for the mixed doubles finals at the Rio Olympic Games here on Monday.

The shuttlers sparked off celebrations at Pavilion 4, Riocentro, when they packed off 2012 London Olympics silver pair, China's Chen Xu-Ma Jin 21-12, 21-19 in a 45-minute heart-stopping match.

The Malaysians, who were in captivating form, clinched an easy 21-12 win in the first set before the sixth world-ranked pair stuck back in the second set to push the game to a decider.
However, Peng Soon-Liu Ying tightened their game and were leading 17-14 in the second set, before the Chinese pair closed to gap to 20-19 before the Malaysians wrapped up the match 21-19.

They will face Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad-Liliyana Natsir in Wednesdays final, a repeat of the group match tie with the world number three who beat the Malaysians 21-15, 21-11 last Saturday.

"We still can't believe the result and also a place in the final. We had dreams about it but actually we have done it ... a great feeling," said Peng Soon after the match.

He said the Chinese were under more pressure compared to them and reminded themselves to keep focused and minimise mistakes.

Liu Ying said they do not want to fail after coming this far and the final against the Indonesians would be a challenge, as they had disposed of London Olympics gold medallists Zhang Nan-Zhao Yunlei of China 21-16, 21-15 in the other semi-final.

However, Liu Ying said they had to prepare well and would give nothing but their best in the final. – Bernama

Thanks, eaglehelang, but the video clips cannot be viewed in the U.S. Apparently geo-restricted. Anyone have any idea if these or similar clips can be viewed some other way in U.S.? I searched youtube but no luck yet.

Very well said, I am very happy for you to have an OLY silver medal, a decent bonus and lifetime pension that you truly earned.

I am very touched by goh liu ying's heartfelt and earnest sharing about her olympic journey.

It speaks of the difficulties and challenges she faced and the great joy and pride in winning the silver medal.

What impressed me most is her humble, down-to-earth attitude. The ability to acknowledge her strength/weaknesses and not to let this major win get to her head. She is very candid about their standing.

Tbh, i think she is a good xd player but not the topmost tier. Regardless, i salute her grit and tenacity coming this far and achieving the silver medal in rio.

Congratulations goh liu ying! You did your country proud!

Dear Goh Liu Ying, you may only be 'just' Goh Liu Ying to yourself but everybody else knows your true worth and sacrifice. May I propose a toast to you. The story of 'just' Goh Liu Ying is an inspiration to all.
