Ninth-seeded Matthieu Lo Ying Ping, riding high after his come-from-behind victory over Korea’s Han Ki Hoon, had a sleep-deprived Taufik Hidayat on the ropes in one of the day’s last matches. At 19-14, two points away from kocking off the top-seeded Indonesian, Mathieu injured his ankle. After getting treatment, the Frenchman finished out the match but his lack of mobility meant that Taufik was able to take control and eventually win it 13-21, 21-19, 21-16.

it makes it easier to identify you on tournament software, cause of the T&T flag as opposed to all the CAD flags, good luck next week.
Just had a look at the draw for next weeks US open, it's quite a battle just to make it to the main draw.

Pi Hongyan came into the crowd to sell raffle tickets to support Solibad. There were 3 prizes of autographed shirts–Pi, Juliane Schenk and Mathieu Lo. Unfortunately I didn't win any of them but her smile was reward enough.

    Madbad, nice pics!

One thing that I like about this Canadian Open is that it is pretty lack in terms of security where the players, volunteers, officials and spectators can intermix and hang out. I gotta say that some of the volunteers basically ended hanging out and watching instead of doing their job. One guy on the same detail as me ended up sitting in the audience with his video camera!

Anyhow, what I observed was that the players are very friendly to each other (especially those @International levels) off-court but boy, that changes when they are on court :) and I must say that Flandy Limpele is probably the nicest one around. He's cool and composed both on and off court and he's like the fatherly type who enjoys playing, watching and hanging out.

WWC, quite agree with the lack of security. In a sense, very good for us fans who can simply walk up to a player and have a chat with them. Speaking of players, Growler and I caught Tony Gunawan in the foyer who was kind enough to take pics with us. When we wished him good luck for his match against the English yesterday, the ever humble Tony replied he would need lots of it. Never stopped smiling the whole time.

I hope they don't arrange the 5 final games in the same time frame, otherwise for $25 it is really too much.

Chinese Taipei should be able to take the most titles here, high chance for 2 to win it and one assured.
