I played against and with Anna Rice today But it was outdoor bbq style badminton, tremendous fun nonetheless!
Who will be going to see this tourney? Madbad, Cooler, etc? I may be heading down there...I may need some help on accomadation and the works
aZn_Popcorn. I will be there on select days but would be happy to meet up with you. Any questions, PM me
Good Luck! Best of luck to smash_master, egibney and any and all Badminton Central members in the Canadian Open this week!
Players from France, Austria and Denmark have been training at RichmondPro yesterday and today. Got to see Christian Lind Thomasen, Martin Billie Larsen, Sune Gavnholt, Jurgen Koch among others this afternoon. MBL was so drenched he was wringing floods of sweat off his shirt into a waste basket. Seems like he is back playing after his ankle injury that has seen his ranking plunge into the 280's
I had been playing at RichmondPro, maybe the best affordable court in Greater Vancouver area. The green court was not bad for big jumps, but kinda hard.
This means Taufik would'nt be playing in the 2010 Macau Open. He is top-seeded in the Canadian Open and he should win the MS title. It is noted that former WS world number 1 Zhu Lin will also be playing in the Canadian Open but she is not seeded.

Was at the Oval for the afternoon and evening sessions. will post some pics later. Some funny moments in the Taufik v Pang match. In game 2, the sun rays managed to peek between the curtains on Taufik's side of the court and play had to be stopped for about 10 mins. Then in the rubber, the dastardly sun reappeared, this time with Pang having to call a halt to proceedings. First time a match has been delayed for "too much sun".
Taufik also ended up breaking 4 strings during that match if i counted correctly while sitting there watching.
in qualifications on tuesday morning, didnt go to well though didnt have the chance to hit at the oval before my match so things were how to say shaky from the start no depth perception and made some simple mistakes in the 2nd game (missed a net kill, smashed one straight into the net from somewhere around the service line, etc) also a little to much power and pushed a few to many out the back of the court. tough luck though just got to learn, accept and move on.
NB (smash_master), see you @ the U.S. Open next week in MS & MD events (Qualification Rd.)...i will try to look for you & say hello! Best of luck!
for anything international i will be flying under the T&T flag. hopefully next week at US Open goes better.
