I would say that Hafiz DID play well. His net play was pretty good and he cut down on his mistakes.I think that he has a chance if he were to play against Bao Chunlai.People are stilll undermining Hafiz's abilities and refuse to put faith in him. This is due to his past performances but can't we just have some confidence in the man? The Hafiz now is different than the old Hafiz..Based on last night's tie against Denmark, I'd say that everyone tried their best.

I dunno, but doesn't BCL always perform well in TC? China does have the advantage but than Real Madrid would win the champions league every year if games are just played on paper and stats... Should be a good match though but in order for Malaysia to win they ideally will have to take both MS1 and MD1, which will be a tall order...

Of course! I was there till the end  He lost but he did try.Did he lose so easily? I don't think so.He was a fighter in that match.I applaud his efforts and he wouldn't played like that if he was a shadow of his former self.

if everyone think WCH is going to lose the MS2, surely the coaches can see that as well. why dont MAS promote HH to MS2 to have a fighting chance?

The problem is HH does not stand any better chance against Chen Jin. In fact, HH has smaller chance of winning. If MAS is to promote HH to MS2, MS3 will have to be a new young player which has even lower possibility of winning.

By retaining HH to MS3, HH has better chance against BCL.

FYI, the only time BCL ever lost in a team game was playing HH. Back in 2002??

WCH beat CJ in their recent met. So, coaches will put their bet on WCH to beat CJ again. If WCH can make it in Macau, why can't he make it again in Malaysia?

Champs to play Malaysia, not Denmark, in semis

A LIN Dan in fiery form is unstoppable. And defending champion China can again count on him to deliver in the semi-finals against Malaysia tomorrow.
In a 3-0 quarter-final win over South Korea yesterday, the three-time world champion showed his steely resolve to overcome a spirited Park Sung-hwan 21-16, 21-15 in a 54-minute battle.
[IMG] True grit: China's Lin Dan acknowledging the cheers from the crowd after beating South Korea's Park Sung-hwan 21-16, 21-15 in the first singles yesterday. China went on to win 3-0 to reach the semi-finals
Sung-hwan, who is one of the few players in the world to have beaten Lin Dan (in three out of their 14 meetings), did right to push Lin Dan deep into the baseline to force weak returns, which he finished off with stinging smashes.
But Lin Dan always found his way back to reverse the pressure on his opponent. The highly-charged first match victory for China did enough damage to the morale of the Koreans.
Scratch combination Jung Jae-sung-Shin Baek-cheol failed to level the tie, going down to Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng 11-21, 16-21 in just 30 minutes. Chen Jin finished the job for China with a 21-15, 21-12 win over youngster Shon Wan-ho.
Lin Dan, who has played in all of China's Cup winning campaigns since 2004, said that he would be out to keep up his unbeaten run in the Finals.
“It was a better performance from me today. Sung-hwan and I were quite nervous when we played in the group tie but today, I was more relaxed,” he said.
“I was left trailing against Sung-hwan in the previous match and I was not determined to go through the same route. I did not want to give him any chance to make it happen.”
China's chief coach Li Yongbo wore a broad smile.
“I saw better performances and commitment from my players. Overall, it was a good team effort,” he said.
On who China preferred to meet in the semi-finals (Denmark and Malaysia played in a quarter-final tie later in the night), Yongbo said: “I don't think Malaysia can come out of the demoralising defeat by Japan. We will be ready for Denmark.”
But Yongbo's wish did not come true as Malaysia upstaged Denmark 3-2 to reach the last four.

I think WCH and HH is almost assured in losing. So, if MAS were to win, the points will have to come from LCW, KKK/TBH and MD2. Tricky, to say the least.
