Precisely, I have much more respect for CY than, say, Mathias Boe. Is venting your frustration on your own bag unsporting, or is pretending the shuttle didn't touch your racket and landed out by itself during a tournament match worse? I'll let you decide. (Btw the incident I'm talking about is caught on video, I can provide the link if anyone wants evidence)
What a fantastic kick! Damn I tried something like that and ended up on the floor with massive cramps
If I was playing against Mogensen with his stupid celebration of every point I would probably get annoyed too...
.. But I think he also hit a lot of Yonex shuttlecocks during the game.. Guess they are not good enough as he hit them so many times The bag he only hit once... /Twobeer
as I have mentioned in the other thread, this is not a big deal given the atmosphere of thr match and the tournment and callng it a disgraceful act is certainly over the top. maybe his having a bad day and losing the match as the favorites got him really emotional, happens to the best of us. when TH lost to PG the next day, did u not see him motioning his racqet and hitting it at the ground out of frustration? in the end, allplayers win and lose and emotions plays a big part in it, it is not any indication of any players sportsmanship. So to all of u bashing CY saying u've lost a lot of respect for him because of this, I'm guessing you never respected him much to begin with
from what I see in the video, after the match the following happened. 1. He shook the hand of the opponents, service judge, and umpire 2. When walking back from shaking hands with the service judge he applauds, sarcasticly. 3. He gets into a sort of jog, and the kicks his racket bag, which has his racket on top of it, this racket then goes flying at quite a pace towards the audience, as well as his racket bag, which also goes about 2-3 metres. 4. Then he gets his red card. Thats what I see from the video.
I hate it when ur opponent celebrates too much.. I would be angry too -.-, and he shook hands and stuff, kicking the bag was just something personal =), maybe he doesnt like the design
lol, chill out guys, he got a bit pissed at losing a match he shouldn't have lost. i like that he still cares so much about the game that he gets so upset. its why hes one of my fave players. full respect to cai yun, hope this motivates him harder for next time.
..the linejudges who saw that kick probably all wondered "How come Liverpool didn't sign him to play? Heck, they could probably use him for those free kicks..".. On a serious note, imagine if there was a match being played on the next court??..I wonder if that went through Cai Yun's mind prior to him giving a boot..Fortunately no one was hurt..
..i know..that's why i wrote "Imagine..."..Would he have launched his bag if there was a match going on, next to his court??..
I am not familiar with the rules regarding cards being given out, what are the procedures regarding yellow and red cards ? Thanks ( when reading this back, it sounds like such a newbies question)
I watched the game on youtube and could not find a thing that explain why this Mr. Yun snapped. Also, the way he kicked the bag was so aweful.....maybe he had been hanging out too much with the other nasty boy Mr. Lin too much lately. Should make it a requirements for these people with bad records to attend a rehab before they are allowed to play....seriously.
it seem lots of bolehians here don't need to make a big fuss out of cai's action, it hurts no one other than his image. Kicking to the crowd is a bit extreme isn't it???? maybe the kicking direction is toward the west, so maybe he's kicking Canada too, or south, to kick france??? how about thomas laybourn here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVT86GTm2oQ (match point at 3:50) there are soccer in us all badminton players as well
I just found him one perfect partner that can match CY. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70520
