We have the top four seeds in MD, each occupying their own group.

    Cai Fu - Group A
    Ko/Yoo - Group B
    BoMo - Group C
    Jung/Lee - Group D

China had a lot to thank for Ko/Yoo to be seeded because that means the rules which disallow two pairs of the same country playing in the same half will force BoMo to face Jung/Lee for a place in the gold medal match.

Ideally, it is a perfectly drawn easy route for Cai-Fu to advance to finals without having to face the top pairs.

However, this comes with a catch. Assuming BoMo and Jung/Lee top their groups and qualify for the knockout stage, Cai-Fu must at all cost finish as group winners to avoid falling into the same knockout half as BoMo and Jung/Lee.

One mistake and defeat in their group can make a huge difference in Cai-Fu's chances of winning their elusive gold medal.

I think this is the last chance for Cai Yun/Fu haifeng to win Olypimics Gold.. since they miss the last chance.
