Chai/Hong are trying to prove their win over Lee/Yoo yesterday is no fluke. By taking G2,the CHN MD already qualified for the semifinal, and will top the group if they win the match.

The only thing assured is GRP A #1 doesn't meet GRP B #1 in the semis. The #2 are free floaters, as in they could meet either GRP A #1 or GRP B #1 depending on the random draw outcome. So TTY could end up playing AY again if that is what the random outcome is.

That's exactly what I'm trying to say but wrt to Akane she'll not meet Saina who I assume tops Grp A.

I haven't seen Chai/Hong play like this for a long time; no wonder Zhang Jun is so relaxed, smiling and looking pleased with his charges.

And Zhang Jun gestures approvingly, again.

For Chai/Hong to overcome both the top two KOR pairs in succession is nothing short of astounding as the CHN pair has been struggling to regain their form for a long time.

The confusion came from this post of yours

She hasn't exactly done that. There is a 33% of TTY playing AY again as of this post

Don't worry, he doesn't like admitting he's wrong. Yamaguchi too good anyway hehe.

Nehwal should win this easy. Hopefully Yamaguchi can have a chance to extend her dominance over the top 10 by beating Nehwal in the final perhaps.

BYJ has no great weapons. I'm surprised she beat WSX yesterday, although it seems WSX didn't come here to play badminton.

Bae YJ and WSX have similar styles but at least Bae is a bit more attacking, esp of late, and that's what I'd like to see more of in WSX. Bae on her day can trouble almost anyone.

Nehwal looks like she has a pot belly.

Bae's tenacity in defence just like Akane's will soon begin to sap Saina's energy.

Seems like Bae is going to deprive Saina of a SF spot second year in a row.

Not yet, Bae has to win in two sets, unlikely in my opinion. We'll see.

Yup, as GC just said, even if Bae wins in two sets, Saina will still be in the running for a semifinal spot depending on the points difference averages.
