Now the defending champion DEN has a match-point opportunity.

But THA made a beautiful net drop which fooled the Danes.

However, Saralee hits out next and then DEN scored the final point 24-22.

Credit to THA for giving a good fight in G2 before finally succumbing.

WD next between INA and JPN. The Indonesians are the underdogs, but I hope they will put up an exceptional showing!

There must be quite a good number of Indonesian workers in Dubai that is providing the cheering and motivation to Mah/Pol.

INA leads 11-9 at the interval. G1 is characterized by long rallies and waiting for an opportunity to attack.

JPN is trying hard to win back the initiative but neither side is willing to make unnecessary mistakes. Their smashes are not piercing enough and not being able to kill, they resort back to cautious play.

However, INA seems to be doing a better job and still leads 17-15, JPN took back service.

Maeda took revenge and killed a short backhand lift. 17-18. But no sooner she made a mistake at the net.
    19-17 to INA.

Game point to INA. Polii rushed out to change her racket but was able to join her partner again for another long rally. However her partner missed a golden opportunity to end the game with a wayward smash. 20-18 INA still leads.

Maheswari made amends with a final point smash 21-18.

More than half an hour for G1!

JPN leads in G2, 3-2. But Polii gained the last point with a smash.

3-all now when Maeda failed to drop a cross court clear.

Polii fell backwards after successfully smashed while falling back, but now INA still trails 6-7 after Kakiiwa was deemed to have hit with her racket across the net. 7-all.
