    Wrong prediction, Ong/Teo have another plan to Huang KX/Liu C, credit to their steel determination in crucial stages of deciding game, 16-all to 20-16. It's so meaningful victory for the Malaysians, first title as independent pair.

    Chen/Jia battled hard to nail WD crown in longest match of final day, 86 minutes. Many long rallies happened between these two pairs before the Chinese changing their strategy smartly in late of third game, more pro active to make fast interception at front area and followed up by hard smash. Ellis/Smith conquer Faizal/Widjaja, thanks to their nice placement and aggressive play. Gloria is the weakest point, she couldn't doo to much to help her partner, quite bad rotation.

    Ng Ka Long claims first title in rebranded HSBC-BWF World Tour after last time topped MAS Masters podium three years ago, a significant progress lately by this HKG player in South East Asia tournaments, being semifinalist in MAS S500 (lost to Axelsen) then defeats Kenta Nishimoto in three games here, the Japanese stamina was declining, one-way traffic in third game. Akane Yamaguchi is back on winning track, an interesting plot at end of match when An Se Young forced deuce. Yamaguchi often unleash deceptive drop shots to trouble her agile opponent several times.

    Super 300 next stop is Spain Masters next month, here's M/Q Report (version 2) : https://extranet.bwfbadminton.com/docs/events/3748/docs/Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 _ M _ Q Report Version 2 _Updated Friday, 24th January 2020_.xlsx

    This event will begin BWF World Tour in Europe, one week break the journey will continue to Mulheim an der Ruhr, Birmingham and Basel. Massive withdrawals by Chinese players, they have not enough time to fulfill 14-day quarantine in Europe as most of them departed to England on Sunday (16th February).

    No major stumbling block for the clear favourite Viktor Axelsen to retain his title, drawn alongside some of his fellow countrymen Jorgensen, Vittinghus, Gemke and TPE number two Wang Tzu Wei. A moderate draw on bottom-half zone, three seeded players pulled out, second seed, the injured Sai Praneeth then two Chinese representatives, Lin Dan and Lu Guangzu. Third seed Kidambi Srikanth should capitalise the situation.

    Home heroine Carolina Marin and Indian star Saina Nehwal are crowd pullers in women's singles category, barring any upsets these two players may meet in last round. Nehwal is slated to face Thailand tricky opponent en route to finale, Busanan Ongbamrungpan and Pornpawee Chocuwong respectively.

    Defending champions Lee/Wang plus Malaysian number one Aaron Chia/Soh WY will be pre-tournament favorite to clinch MD title. The top-seed Taiwanese pair will face decent test in opening round, Ivanov/Sozonov. Lack of participants in women's doubles category in the absence of JPN, CHN, KOR pairs. More interesting to follow lower-half section, Stoeva sisters, the well-improved Fruergaard/Thygsen and Thailand regular faces Kititharakul/Prajongjai will hunt final spot. Malaysian top-two seed will be challenged by a string of European combinations, the most notable duo are Ellis/Smith who created big headline in THA Masters last month.

    QUALIFICATION (10.00am) & WD, MD R/32 (12.20PM, 01.00PM) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/....aspx?id=E8551F1E-6F4D-491C-861A-AF65C3831B49

    Boe/Con or Ast/Ras, which pair will qualify to Tokyo? So far they have about equal chance.

    Loh Kean Yew puts a decent fight to trouble tall man Viktor Axelsen with his deep forehand shots and followed up by nice angle cross court smashes or disguising drop shots, but still former World Champion has better shot variations and controlling the tempo. Next, Brice Leverdez awaits the top-seed to seek a place in last eight.

    Yes. She made the announcement back in August, actually, but that partnership with Kim Gi Jung never happened at the Korea Open. Instead, she and Sa Rang started with Dubai.

    Yeah, hard to believe that we saw the same player with 2017 version. Slim chance for him to seal top 16 spot on 26th April unless he could produce magic comeback in some of remaining tournaments.

    When Viktor Axelsen is overwhelming favourite to seal final spot, it's open wide for lower-half draw as all the unseededs hunting to earn better outcome here.

    Saina Nehwal redeemed his Rio OG 2016 shocking defeat over Ukranian player Maria Ulitina yesterday then besieged by Thailand rivals, Busanan Ongbamrungphan & Pornpawee Chochuwong. Similar narrative for home darling Carolina Marin who takes on promising star, 2019 Syed Modi India S300 runner-up Phittayaporn Chaiwan and no impossible to face another Thai hurdle in final four.

    Both Axelsen and Marin are on course to final, the latter is barricaded by Thailand opponent and she will avenge her unexpected losing against Supanida Kathethong in VIE Open last year, first match debut for the Olympic Champion post severe injury layoff.

    Ajay Jayaram is the only India representative left and will face Thailand future star Kunlavut Vitidasarn who disposed Sameer Verma yesterday. Close contest between Stoeva sisters versus Thai number one, the winner of this tie most likely will take on top contender Polii/Rahayu on tomorrow's final.
