Oh dear, Wang Tzu Wei dismantled Son Wan Ho. I must say, ever since WTW came under Luan Jin's tutelage, he's become more consistent, constructing his rallies and attacking better, sharp, forceful, and well-timed, including an improved defence. He's also a bit too fast for SWH, who may not be fully match-fit yet.

Chaiwan didn't play as well today against Rituparna Das as she did against Wang Zhiyi yesterday, but still prevailed in two straight sets, 24-22, 21-15.

A disaster single digit scoreline, it's first ever victory for Wang TW over Son WH who contributing many free points that making this match was one way traffic clash.

This is much more interesing MS semifinal contest, late surge by Verma at the end of third game, 15-18 to 21-18, good job!

An upset right there, Russian pair defeats no.1 seed Marcus/Lauren in two straight games to win Syed Modi Super 300. Is this pair new? Never heard of them.

I think they have been around for a year at least, lately they have troubled quite some higher ranked pairs though.

Interesting to see the CHN coach He Hanbing and the newly-recruited Korean coach beside him during the He Jiting/Tan Qiang match against the KOE pair, Choi/Seo, and emerging victorious to lift the Syed Modi MD title.

    Oh they love CM.
CM is very popular in India, and she loves being here too.
And you'd think people won't like her since she crushed their hearts on multiple occasions
WC Vs PVS, OG Vs PVS, All England Vs SN
But she's established herself as the epitome of WS, because these were the only few matches huge masses watched.
And she's very friendly to many Indian players Satwik PVS to name a few.

Add to that WC vs SN. Satwik and Marin share a sibling relationship as seen by their social media posts and stories.

Yup, big upset considering their low ranked to topple more established Ellis/Smith also stunned another leading contender here Tan CM/Tse SY in quarterfinal. The Russian youngsters produced decent performance in HKG Open couple of months ago, beat Tan KM/Lai PJ also troubled Thai aces Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai.

As expected Carolina Marin nails WS title, showing her world class quality over Thai potential star 18 years old Phittayaporn Chaiwan. The Olympic Champion world ranking is closer to top 10 with 7,000 point addition. Meanwhile Wang Tzu Wei ends his three years waiting to pocket gold medal in Lucknow when he last time won Dutch Open 2016. Verma ramped up the pressure to his opponent in second game when he leveled the scoreline 8-13 to 13all and both players traded points since then, too bad three mistakes at end of game contributed his defeat.
