Suppose that your opponents play a tight net drop but you are in position to net kill it (or at least you think you are) so you brush kill it. However, you misjudged it so you brush it kind of upward around midcourt to the sides. High and fast enough to be past the front player but not high enough for the back person to smash it. They can drive, drop or clear it. Since you are pulled to the front of the court where should you try to recover to?

sounds like you're in a doubles match: stay at the front, take some steps back so you stand some inches past the T-joint..

if it's so high he can drive: take some more steps back...

though next time: tape it more gently: judge it right yous core a point, judge it wrong and it won't go so high/far...
