KW can be proud despite the outcome of the match. Congrats to CTC going to the finals! Another amazing match at the Indonesia open.

KW is also super fit, maybe more so than CTC who appeared a little tired towards the end

CTC is a smart and highly experienced player, he handled the crucial points better to take the match in the end.

OTOH, KW shows maturity for his age, a worldbeater-in-the-making.

Non-chinese XD pair really need to step up tbh... Ever since Natsir retired, it just seems way too easy for the top 2 chinese XD.. They make their opponents look like amateur most of the time..

This has become by far the least competitve category of all 5 categories.

A few promising up and coming pair (higashino, the thai pair notably) but still a big gap between the chinese and the rest I feel.

This is a bit of a shame because back in the day with Pedersen, Zhang/ Zhao/, Juhl, Natsir etc, it was one of my favorite category to watch actually.

Agree. The question would be : How?
It's not like the other pairs are not trying hard enough.

I would rather take Camila Martin Seriously being an OG silver and WC gold medalist than an average coach....Obviously if he has any OG medals I beg your pardon for calling him a "Mere Commentator" if not then thats what he is personally for me.

I d say the competitiveness is half the point.. Another point is lack of stars.

Unlike MS/MD that has LD, Kevin, KM, Axelsen and what we want is stars that carry the game forward. just feels the competitive spirit is gone.

Id say XD is in a sorrier state than WD.

watched a great match between HokiKoba vs AhsanHendra. Thats where unseeded players can challenge the seeded players its just great.

So anyone who didn't get an Olympic or WC medal are "mere people". Ok... that divides the badminton world in two category one of it being such an elitist one. Even TTY is a "mere person" if we follow that kind of reasoning.

But what about him being responsible for several players to obtain medals whether it be at the Olympics or WC thanks to his analysis and training? Anyway I just think he can be a commentator and have interesting things to say knowing he is breathing badmiton for decades.
