Surprisingly,He Bingjiao is competing here but not Sun Yu. Does CBA think she can handle three back-to-back tournaments ? Perhaps their intention is to put her to the test under tournament conditions to see where her shortcomings are and to what extent she falls short, the better to address them.

Tournament and practice conditions are two separate matters, being pushed to the limit will also enable her to understand her own conditions and weaknesses better as well as help her and her coaches to identify areas for improvement.

Sorry CLELY for 'usurping' your role, perhaps you're busy or forgot (I almost did) there's a tournament ongoing. Honestly, you have been doing us a big favour opening the tournament threads regularly, can't thank you enough, so much so that some of us, including myself, may have taken you for granted.

Once again, my apologies and many thanks.

In MS, already a few seeds knocked out - Anthony Ginting (11) by Khosit Phetpradab, Emil Holst (13) by Kai Schaefer, and Hsu Jen Hao (8) by Kim Bruun.

I dont think CLELY forgot . She is always on top of all badminton affairs. After the Olympics , discussion has somewhat waned in this forum. Lets hope it picks up soon. Anyhow Justin three cheers to you for taking the initiative. You have always been forthcoming in your comments.

Looks like Xue Song is still not fully match fit. He raced to a 7-1 lead and now he's trailing....

Now he's being attended by the tournament doctor...
In the first place, maybe he shouldn't have come back to competition in less than six months if he isn't at least 90% ready. Not looking good.

He's just conceded the match. How unlucky. Hope it's not too serious.

Xue Song retired when Sourabh Verma was leading 16-9 in the first set. He twisted his ankle it seems. Hope it is not serious.

I noticed he was already limping slightly yesterday. I think it has something to do with his calf or ankle. He could walk out of the court on his own, so not that serious. He played before fully fit probably because he does not want to lag too far behind in his ranking
Good night to you Justin. Has to catch a flight to Guangzhou in a few hours time. Happy watching to you.

Sad to hear about Xue song. Hope its not his knee again. What a promising player he was before the injury! Now suddenly everything feels so shaky.. Hope he recovers soon and kick big asses again. Meanwhile good for saurabh.. Major hurdle crossed. He has been playing great recently after himself being out with injury for long while his colleagues represented india frequently. Now is his time and he must try to make most of it. He has the ability to trouble top players. His brother Samir won too.

I won't be the least bit surprised Chen Qingchen's body is crying to take a few days off.
