Just realized from looking at the line-up of 5 MS and 4 MD from DEN competing in the Indonesian Open, that the Danish "defence" of their Thomas Cup title has already begun...

But my goodness Daugaard is much too slow to be playing Left-Right MD with Christiansen-- tell him to stay at the back of the court, build his arms up to Fu Haifeng's size and then smash away!

How could he possibly "over-tax" himself? It was finished in 2 straight sets and a walk in the park. Players undergo much tougher training everyday. One thing is for sure though, Prannoy has the hungrier of the 2 today. The drifty conditions can also dampen the players' mood somewhat in varying degree.

Jan is a very down to earth person. Easy to see when he is in casual surroundings. He is only 29, not a very high age for a Danish badminton player; but he been plagued by injuries lately. Same reason why he did not participate in European Championships and Sudirman Cup.

Who likes to play jr. compatriots?

I don't understand the hate for Jan O Jorgensen. Maybe there are some outburst, but no ridiculous ones.
    Care to enlighten me?

I did not realize that Boe/Mog has become the World No.1 again.
    Congrats.

Another upset. Nitchaon Jindapol beat former World No.1 Saina Nehwal in three games 21-15, 6-21, 21-16.

That's not an upset. Even NJ is higher ranked than SN now :(
Coming back is getting really tough

Like I said, you have no idea how hard you have to smash to make the shuttle actually go "straight" in such drifts... LD/ LCW's tap smashes wouldn't work and even a young guy like Angus Ng Ka Long wouldn't/ couldn't do these hard smashes more than a few times...

Players who makes such hard smashes their specialty have it easier, of course; but the real challenge for them comes when they are forced to play a 3rd deciding games...

Jindapol had little trouble controlling the base line against Saina in the 3rd game...

Looks like the drift conditions have stabilized-- Jonathan Christie is in for a hard time, even if Chen Long just plays a 70% controlling game....

Funny, how the INA Open is used to be a very fertile land to plow for both Datuk Lee and Saina, they both won here repeatedly yet today both are gone.

And with Rajiv Ouseph, the Adcocks & Pedersen/Juhl--

3 European Champions (MS, XD & WD) are through to the next round and 1 is out (WS Carolina Marin), with 1 more (MD Boe/Mogensen) remaining to be decided....

Greysia Polli have changed her serve style, haven't she? Interesting. That was her weak link i think. I just noticed that.

    Adcocks need tougher enemies ;)

Many matches are still not be played yet and now time is already 7pm. As for court 1, if each match is gonna take 1 hour to finish, the last match will finish at 3am! Don't know why the organizers started the schedule at 1pm.
