Since there is no evidence of you standing on the podium, I assume you failed in your title defence.

Malaysia shouldn't complain, since I didn't represent the country. I represented BC, so it's BC's "loss", wakakakaka.

Just got back home, will post more pics on Paris in the morning/afternoon.

    All The Things French .....

Let's skirt outside the badminton competition and go onwards to see France as it is.

It is really a City you could explore on foot, if you have the drive for it.

Here are some of the attractions.

    The Eiffel Tower .....

..... itself is a truly majestic sight. Not until you come really close to it, do you know how huge this imposing structure is.

    Eiffel2.jpg

    Eiffel Pillar.jpg
Just look at the size of the pillar alone, this is the North Pillar, and a sizeable crowd is already mingling 90 minutes before the doors are opened.

Some sort of Peace Monument - with Eiffel Tour in the background

Views of the Ecole Militaire, the Military Academy that produced Napoleon. Guy on the horse is General Joffre of French World War 1 fame.

    Eiffel Velib.jpg

Velib bikes, handy to use for a tour of the Champ de Mars area.

    The Latin Quartier ......

..... is one of my favourite haunts for Halal Food. There are so many varieties of food here, even an Indonesian Restaurant close by. But the streets are quite narrow.

    Latin2.jpg
    Latin3.jpg
    Latin1.jpg

French Building Architecture, heavy Latin influence

Another reason for hauting the Latin Quartier is because of this, the biggest Mosque in France. The Mosque de Paris. It has a decent cafe inside the compounds.

    Time To Go Home

Yes, finally our time is up and I had to surrender the "title".

    Podium.jpg

After a year's worth of "hardcore training", fastdrop and I had to miss this. ..... :crying:

Both of us went home on Monday evening. I had a pretty long stopover at Dubai, and to "drown my sorrows", did quite a bit of fastdrop-style shopping at the Airport.

    Final pictures ......

    RER Yannick.jpg
Met Yannick Noah at the train station, apparently he has become a rock star .....

With 3 kms of shopping area.

    Dubai Safaa.jpg

Shopping is hungry work, had pre-dawn meal here

    Dubai Maybach2.jpg

And if you shop enough, you are entitled to a 1 in 1000 chance to win this Maybach convertible ...... does not include shipping and taxes.

    But Hey ......

...... there's always next year at the Wembley Arena.

Yup, Yonex still dominates sponsorship, even if Li Ning dominates the title victories next year.

1 EURO per day, as long as you return the bike within 30 minutes. Quite easy actually, if you want to use it longer than 30 minutes, just swap bikes at the stations every 30 minutes. The only hard thing is to spot the location of the other bike stations. You have to check the bike condition though, quite a few have been abused / vandalized.

Helmet is optional, you can bring your own.

Ohh, obviously would need some "Warm up Tournaments" to prepare .......

Doesn't hurt to buy in advance. If I am not, err, well prepared for the tournament, could always sell 'em.

The tickets are quite a bit more expensive than in France. Plus they are running afternoon/evening session tickets for quarterfinals and semifinals days.

So the best option is to purchase season tickets, for you it's only slightly under SGD250 including postage via FedEx.
