The boys (along with players like Fikri, Jonathan Christie etc.) are all fighting for 1 spot in the AJC and WJC. Because the first 3 spots are reserved for Vito, Gifar, and Wisnu Yuli who are all in the National Team and still U19. The AJC and WJC spot for XD, BD, and GD are pretty much open because the very few players in the National Team are U19. Djarum and Jaya Raya want to give them enough World Junior Ranking Points that will make them well-seeded when time comes.

Next in the pipeline... Spec-Tangkas Indonesia Junior International Challenge in June. Yes, Alfamart pulled out from sponsoring Tangkas and the tournament altogether. Specs (an Indonesian badminton equipment maker) replaced them. :) Then AJC, India Junior International Challenge, Malaysia Junior Future Series, WJC, Singapore Junior International Series.

For those who are interested, here's how BWF categorized the Junior tournaments:
    2.6. Junior Tournaments

    I think so too... ;)

The INA boys lost in the first-round. Nevertheless, Reksy gave a good fight. Overall, I think it has been a good tour for the Djarum BS players, winning a title in German Junior (when the field is supposed to be tougher) and a SF in Dutch Junior.

In MD, Felix Kinalsal/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo get a free pass to QF. 2-3 matches left today with Edi/Arya playing now and WD to be played later.

Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama won convincingly in straight-sets. Up next for them is the relatively experienced 4th seed Ondrej Kopriva/Thomas Kopriva. The Czech pair is ranked at No 119 and played mostly at European IC tourneys. They also went to compete at the INA IC 2009, only to lose to Didit/Seiko in 2 easy sets. Edi/Arya should have a reasonable chance against them!

Someone from the BWF sent it to me...

I seeee...... Then yes, Edi-Arya has a reasonable chance. As usual, INA's doubles standard is higher than our singles... :p I think we shall see 1-2 INA semifinalists in this Banuinvest International Series... ;)

Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama comfortably beat the 4th seed and progress to QF. So, 4 INA pairs in QF today and if they clear that round, Edi and Melati will play 4 matches each again today.

    MD QF
    Laurent Constantin/Sebastian Vincent
[1] vs Felix Kinalsal/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo - the first match in Romania for Felix/Kevin (who last played on Friday last week). They must be hungry for action but they are facing a more experienced French pair, ranked at WR59 at the moment.

Marin Baumann/Lucas Covee vs Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama - I think Edi/Arya can progress into SF.

    WD QF
Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyta Putri Eka Sari vs Mette Poulsen/Ditte Strunge Larsen - Mette Poulsen is the partner of Frederik Colberg in XD and they were the champion of German Junior 2011. Meanwhile, this GD pair is also the European Junior 2011 champion. The Danes have an edge.

    XD QF
    Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani
vs Tony Stephenson/Sinead Chambers [3] - I think Edi/Melati can beat the Irish pair.

I hope 2 pairs can progress to SF.

As predicted, Edi/Melati are through to the SF in just 25 mins! Their next opponent should be tougher, the 2nd seed from German Max Schwenger/Isobel Herttrich. The Germans had forced Chris Adcocok/Imogen Bankier to 3-sets earlier this.

Kim Brunn will be another potential danger for the INA boys in the WJC 2012. He beat the second-seed Misha Zilberman (WR78) in 2 easy sets. He lost to Kim Dong Joo last week and was also competing at the Swedish Int 2012 in mid-January.

Last year, he participated in 9 European IC tourneys (forcing Joachim Persson to 3-sets at the Kharkov Int 2011)! The others were in WJC (where he lost to Gerald Ong of Singapore, despite being seeded 9/16 then) and the Hungarian Junior 2011. So, in terms of seniors tourney, this guy is relatively experienced too!

3 out of 4 INA pairs make it to SF, surpassing Krisna's expectation!

As I expect, Felix Kinalsal/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo lost in 3 tight-sets to the top-seed 16-21, 22-20, 17-21! Good experience for the young INA pair to test the WR59, ranked even higher than Ricky/Ulin or Andrei/Christopher!

Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama maintain their consistency in reaching SF in all of the 3 European tourneys they participate in, after another straight-sets victory. They will test another unseeded pair Jonas Christensen/Mohd Misbun Misbun Shawal for a place in the Final.

In WD, Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyta Eka Putri Sari also progress as they beat the reigning European Junior champion, also in straight-sets.

Unlike the Djarum team, who choose to go to Romania, the Korean Juniors are now participating in the Hungarian Junior 2012 and guess what:
BS - all 4 SF are Koreans
    GS - ditto
XD - 3 out of 4 are Koreans (with one of them a Danish pair)

BD and GD are still being played but I predict KOR will also sweep 3 spots in BD (with another one as you expect will be a Danish pair Matthias Christensen/David Daugaard, the pair that Edi/Arya beat last week). KOR is also likely to an all-KOR SF, with the 2 pairs that Melati/Rosyta beat already booking their spots.

So, the Koreans that we see last week in the German Junior 2012 are not easy pushovers and the fact that the Djarum boys and girls beat them en route to the BS & GD titles are good news for INA!

3 of the Semi-Finalists: Kim Dong Joo, Jeon Hyun Jin, and Heo Kwang Hee were all beaten by Thomi Azizan Mahbub and Kho Henrikho Wibowo respectively.

The only weakness that INA has is in GS. That will take years to correct.....

Interval time....as XD SF will be played in 1 hr time.

    XD SF
Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani vs Max Schwenger/Isabel Herttrich [2] - this will be a tough match for Edi/Melati. The German pair has the edge.

    MD SF
    Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama
vs Jonas Christensen/Mohd Misbun Misbun Shawal - I think Edi/Arya can progress to another Final.

    WD SF
Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyta Eka Putri Sari vs Sandra-Maria Jensen/Line Kjaerfeldt [2] - the Danish pair is ranked 73 and they already won the Croatian International 2011. It will be good news if the INA GD pair can win this one!

Phheeewww........ a 23-21 win in the 1st game maybe somewhat demotivated the Germans in their match against Edi-Melati...... ;)

I agree with badMania regarding the predictions of the other 2 semifinalists... Edi-Arya has a better shot at moving on to the finals. Melati-Rosyita will have a hard time against the DEN WD....... DEN lost 2 WD in the quarterfinals a few hours ago, I doubt they will lose this SF matchup... I say Sandra-Line has a 55% chance of winning over Melati-Rosyita.

I was told that over the past 2 weeks, the GD competitors at the Dutch Junior and German Junior were all afraid of Rosyita's attacking-power abilities. But her power is not yet world-class at the senior level... :p

The only GS that INA has right now that can actually win Dutch Junior or German Junior or Banuinvest International Series is: Hanna Ramadini :) and to a certain extent can give problems to her competitors at this level: Setyana Mapasa
