    It could mean he is guilty.

    From the whatsapp messages of TCS and ZZ, should be around RM15k per match. Still pretty cheap in my opinion

    If TCS is not guilty he should defend himself and clear his name especially if he wants to continue to coach in Australia.

    I think ZZ's major complaints are (at paragraph 127):

    127. ZZ submitted that the investigation was flawed and all actions flowing from it should be excluded as:
    127.1. he was deprived of the right to have legal counsel during his interview [ie, the interrogation];
    127.2. he was not informed that the interview related to an investigation into violations of the 2012 Code and 2016 Code;
    127.3. the interview was conducted in English, a language in which he was not conversant and did not understand all questions;
    127.4. his mobile phone was taken from him immediately during the investigation and not after seven (7) business days as provided by the 2016 Code; and
    127.5. the WhatsApp messages relied upon by the BWF were tampered with, having not been presented in their original form.
    TCS' complaints (at para 128):

    128. TCS submitted that his interview transcript and the WhatsApp messages should be excluded as:
    128.1. he was not informed of his right to have legal counsel present and he was deprived of the right to have legal counsel during his interview. This violated, inter alia, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights;
    128.2. the interview was conducted in English, in which he was not conversant and did not understand all questions, and no independent translator was present;
    128.3. the interview was not conducted “under caution”;
    128.4. the evidence obtained from the interview was obtained illegally, and therefore should be disregarded by virtue of the ‘exclusionary rule’; and
    128.5. the WhatsApp messages were not properly exhibited, being selected messages only, and therefore should be disregarded by virtue of the ‘best evidence’ rule.

    @pcll99

    Are you implying the two will get off from the ruling due to these issues?

    It's clearly visible that they did match fixing without any doubt.
    Whatsapp conversation shows that they knew they knew about the consequences if they get caught. What do he expect then?
    What do he want to explain to media?

    Anyone else thinks it was stupid by the two culprits to hand in their phones, why not throw the phone into the sea, buy a new identical one, put your sim-card in and use it for something innocent like calling your mom and then hand it to BWF?

    https://www.malaymail.com/s/1627052/bam-no-plans-to-help-national-shuttlers-zulfadli-chung-seang

    Someone asked BAM if BAM would pay the fines... I wonder what logic would justify that action . Norza didn't categorically deny the possibility.

    “I think they know where they stand. I saw a report stating Zulfadli told that people have to understand and hear his story. So let us give that benefit to him first.

    “They have to go through the process of appealing…I think they have their own legal counsel, they will discuss what is best for them. Let’s wait for that,” Mohamad Norza said when he was asked if BAM would give financial help to the two shuttlers to pay the hefty fine imposed by BWF, after chairing the Coaching and Training (C&T) Committee meeting at Academy Badminton Malaysia here, today."

    BAM given the files to MACC.

    But how efficient are MACC?

    Why would bam want to do that? They are not under bam & they probably earn so much from match fixing..the fine is peanuts

    I was really surprised that bam got asked. Even more surprised when there was no 'no' answer.

    Wish I could have asked that person why this question came up.

    MACC is very efficient as far as looking into how they handle and take actions against corrupted individuals here in Msia. If this 2 players already have been approached by the Macc then, its just a matter of time their names will again come into the spotlight if the Macc open an investigation........only time can tell now.
