That aside, Momota, in an intriguing post on his Twitter account, has stated that he will make an announcement today (December 31) at 18:00, via Twitter. There is speculation amongst fans as to whether he, too, has married, or, alternatively, whether he is going to go pro.

Sure, they paired up, but they were not considered to be an XD pair. Officially, they were designated as MD and WD players, respectively. That is why, when Inoue and Kaneko lost their MD place on the national team, Kaneko and Matsutomo ceased to feature. Neither, until the December AJC tournament, have they ever played as an XD pair in any domestic tournaments. That will change in 2021, when, they will be despatched as an XD pair, together with WataHiga.

Same pronunciation (on'yomi) but different Kanji. Yuki in Yuki Kaneko is 祐(yu) 樹(ki), while in Yuki Fukushima is 由(yu) 紀(ki).
