Yes but in Europe its slowly gaining fame due to Denmark's talent and England as well. A handful of Olympic medals there whereas in NA there are none (besides that lucky one that Michelle and Alex got)
You might be right about Denmark but wrong about the UK. It has lost a lot of fame. We haven't had any really good players in 10 years. Such a shame
You might want to spin off a seperate thread on that. But it looks like English girls are a step behind in techniques and fluidity of movement compared to the top twenty. The differences are less obvious with the English men. What are the men doing different to the girls?
Hi, I am not sure, but I believe you are referring to two different drills, the first one being more advanced. Depending on the player's level, this drill is more complex as it may involve combinations of strokes and footwork. Feeding 4 corners is more about retrieving abilities, it should not be random. Initially it may to help the player to be familiar moving to the 4 corners (or 6), but at more advanced level it could be done to address the players movements and issues on court. Badminton like a majority of other sports in Canada are not professional. People practice for fun or for health purposes, not to make money. China is different, the setup is different and so is the mentality of athlete since young age - either you succeed or you are out. Similar to the professional football (soccer) clubs in Europe. I think things are also changing in China, the level of support from Government is not the same as before. The people in general have more options to be successful socially and economically, not necessarily from sports like back in the olden days.
Comparing badminton in China and Canada is pointless. Same can be said comparing ice hockey in Canada and China.
