Hi! I'm glad to see such a vibrant community in Atlanta. I'll be an Undergrad at Emory this fall and I've played for the past four years. I'm not bad and I want to continue playing. Since I don't have a reliable means of transportation since we're not allowed cars, anyone know a club close to Emory's campus? I know Emory has a club itself, but I haven't heard much about it. Either way, thanks!
hey i was wondering about if there are any courts in gwinnett county that are indoor? also i am a georgia state student so i no last semester there use to be badminton in the school gym wed & fri. the bad part is u need to pay $5 if ur not a student.
Any Places To Play Badminton In Atlanta??? Is there any where in Atlanta that has decent open badminton courts!!??? I moved to Atlanta from San Diego, CA and is dying to find a decent place to play badminton.
SIDENOTE: I was wondering if there are any good places to string and buy decent rackets around the Atlanta area....
http://www.gutsandglorytennis.com, They are based in Suwanee, GA, but I dont know how well they string. What I might do later is send my racket to www.badminton.net and have them string it same day. I used to buy rackets and have them string it when I was in San Diego.
Stringing in Marietta Hardcore tennis (http://www.hardcoretennis.net/ ) strings badminton rackets. They are located in the Windy Hill Shopping Village mall close to I-285 I-75 intersection. They have strung my rackets for just 15 bucks (my own string). The racket is usually ready the same day.
I string rackets. $12 if you have your own string, otherwise, I have Yonex BG9, BG65, BG80, Ashway Rally 21 mico, and ML-LX, you can choose from. also I have order a big amount of shuttlecocks: I made a website just for fun: http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~zcao6/index.html hope this will help.

zmwoody, How is badminton at Emory? Is it popular? I visited that distinguished university a couple years ago. The Woodruff Physical Education Centre was an impressive building! But there was nary a sign of a badminton player about. It's always nice to read about different clubs around the world in the pages of BadCentral. Anything to share on Emory?
I don't really know about Emory My stepson goes there. They have a intramural team that has gone to some tournaments. I'm in Arizona we have a badminton facility here now before we only had rec center gyms. http://www.azbadmintoncenter.com/
That is a great thing that you have in Mesa now! It is always scary opening a sports-oriented business, especially when the sport is "minor". Best of luck!!
Anyone know of a place to play in Cobb? There are several Univ like Southern Polytech and Kenn State, and there seem to be badminton courts in their gym, but I don't know if they are open to public. Anybody has any information? Looking for a place to smash near home...
I live in Cobb too! If you find out anywhere to play, let me know. I'm deeply interested in playing and have been looking for a place close by that I don't have to fight traffic to get to after work in order to play.
