You can use it on the crosses but with the mains it needs a bit of a push, so I don't do it there.

And my own PP bases did need a bit of a tighten every once in a while.

All things being equal the clamp is more important - that's the thing that's touching the string.
The PP ones aren't even in the same street as these - tooth gap, diamond dust, handle action... better in every conceivable way.

The tubes on those seem shorter than on mine but that could be because the locking handle is so much fatter.
If the prices are roughly equal I would go with the PP's just because you'd get them sooner and it'd be easier to sort out any issues with a UK seller (especially W&D, who are excellent).

You'd have to get 12.2 mm clamps, but he's got them;).

I had to jump through some serious hoops to get my old 12.0 PP's to fit - a lathe was involved.

You can get the AEFs in either size. The bases over here are all 12.0 mm, but the auto-lockers are 12.2.

An update on those Gamm-esque clamps, my 32/33 jobs with LN#1 have gone from 1410-20 to 1460-70 off the machine (and during the AE I had to switch back to my old clamps and noticed the drop).

    Worth it.

I would, but I only used one; the bottom of the turntable hub is wide enough to act as a washer.

Does the Ali express website come as a pair or just 1 each?

Only just long enough to work the auto-unlock without hitting the top of the tube. Very little tolerance.

Do you think you could measure it for me? I want to make sure that they wouldn't hit my supports on the Ghost 2.
