ah right - i'm sure you'll be fine in the singles - i mean - for gods sake - i've entered the competitive singles - and i'm totally rubbish at singles...

on a lighter note - towelling grips rule - just need to get some chalk/talc and i'm sorted...

I'm not happy about the change of times, I booked my flights to accomodate the published times and might have to come out of the singles should I win the group in order to get my flight

Not that I think I will but just in case.

it's not really a change is it, the actual competition still starts at 10, it's just that our first game isn't till 13.30 imagine if every player turned up at 10 for the level doubles. it'd be a logisitcal nightmare..

neway - a week to go! hurrah!

Need to put in a bit of work this week on stamina, 3 to 15, almost like those real competitions ;)

I can't wait for it, although my flight out on Sunday leaves at 9.15 which means I need to be at check in at 7.15 and in MK central for about 5.15 in order to get to Luton for 6.15 and from there to the airport, I could chance the one hour later but I don't know if the free bus from the train station is running on Sundays and also I would assume there will be a couple of extra layers of security at Luton given recent events.

At least I'm not letting anyone down for the singles if I need to try and get my games played quickly, I might need to phone them to get them to try and put my games together.

    See you there :D

oooh - nasty flight situation there.. hehe - i've got proof that my charisma permeated thru the www, tangodoll has asked me to share her room!

    lol!!!

yeah - think i'll spend the week detoxing and doing some interval work and skipping that should sharpen me up. and some light weights to fend off injury... bloody hamstrings been playing up again!!! prolly too heavy weights in the gym and over lunging at fencing on wednesday night..

    ah well

    see you there!!

well, what a scream of a weekend..

me and dill had a right lark in the men's doubles - we may not have got thru the group stage, but lets face it we've never seen each other let alone played together so i was quite chuffed to win 4 out of 6 of our group games. including a killer 3 game thrill which we won 17-16 in the final game. a thoroughly enjoyed match - even if we were both worse for wear after it..

I can thoroughly recommend that anybody who can enter should give it a go - it's really worth it, and so long as you don't take it too seriously it's great fun as well :)

now... for the rest of the season and the satellite circuit...
