What a complete waste club badminton is! Our merry little contingent of around 8 or 10 has been reduced to one for the entire weekend (guess who  ) and one pair of friends of friends going on the Saturday only for the social mixed and one pair coming down on the Saturday evening for the Sunday social doubles.

All screwed up because of a bloody political situation in the club  I'd like to bang all their heads together.

But on a good note I got 3 points off a crap player at singles on Monday night and am now very good at picking up the shuttle with my racket :(

    No way indeed

Let Mr Nichols in BE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you to do? Hang on until they call you?

    Shambolic me thinks.

It might not be that the singles is popular but the limited number of games, also they might give the preference to people doing more than one event since they are there already and not just doing one discipline :(

I say, let Mr Nichols in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple up here who were going down for the social mixed doubles have also been put in as reserves and told to go down if they want and they can get in if people withdraw, not really worth the effort though :(

    That's a shame!

Hoping to win in singles and proceeding to other events on the same day will require not only skill but lots of energy and reserves as well!

So I second the motion: "Let Mr Nicholls IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :crying: :crying: :crying:

    Coops, any word yet?

Coops any word about entry yet?

I know folks on the bad and good end of the stick now but have still received nothing myself :(

Might be a pain in the arse after I have booked flights and hotel and might still only be a stand in :(

woohoo! got my confirmation today, and it's sweet- i only have to get there by 1300 on saturday, which saves me an early morning set off.

also i got into all three events which is cool too, and the singles is last so i won't be shagged out for the mens or the mixed :)

i'm a bit dubious about the 'only consume food and drink bought on the premises' rule - your telling me that they're gonna have enough food and drink for that many people over the weekend - i find that hard to believe..

ah well - rules is rules..

best book my hotel now..., and finish putting my name on my tshirts...

    See y'all there!

thats it, i'm all done, hotel is booked - i've gone for one a little further out, simply because it's less than £50 for a night.

i should have my laptop by then too - shouldn't be too difficult to get on the 'net from milton keynes to keep you all posted on mine and dill's progress on saturday night. that's if there is any progress of course :D

just need to dig out the sewing machine for some wacky shirt designs... or at least some interesting colored lettering :)

hehe - i'm sure i had some leopard print material somewhere!!! mwhahahaha :D:D:D:D:D:D

    Eh......................

I thought the gents started at 10.00 on the Saturday :(

If it was later that meant i could have saved myself a few quid and flew on Saturday morning instead of Friday afternoon.

    Still no letter though :(

yeah, think it does, altho apparently we're in group 2, both the social and the league comp start at the same time, and both ladies and mens too - so i suppose thats a lot of games to get through. I can't remember how many courts the NBC has, but from what i'm led to believe the groups are of 4 so that everybody get's at least 3 matches. No pressure phil, but i ain't going out at the group stage :D but neway - 4 groups of 4 from 10 and a break for lunch i'd imagine takes them up to 13.30 i suppose

yeah - it does suck that you had to fly the friday night and book the hotel for an extra night..

lol - i'm sure the letter will come soon enough... they're prolly just investigating you playing social singles and league doubles :p

right - off to try my new towelling grip..
