Actually her name is pronounced Ratch-a-nok, and it's not ok to call her Rat or Chan. In Thailand we call her Ratchanok or by her nickname, which is May.
Appreciate your clarification. I remember her nickname is May which I find too common, so I still prefer to call her Intanon.
If the Chinese really were fixing things behind the scenes, why didn't they give Li Xuerui a rest today?
I'm wondering if LXR is going through what happened to Nozomi Okuhara after the latter's long, grueling match with WSX at the MAS Open, exhausted. In fact, it's reported that LXR is undergoing acupuncture therapy in-between matches during tournaments. The report also said that instead of undergoing surgery for her leg injury (reason not given), she underwent a more conservative form of treatment which, besides taking a longer time, also entailed a higher risk of aggravating her injury if she's not careful; hence she is taking extra precaution and feeling constrained by it. But so far so good, she's gradually regaining her confidence while making it a point to deal with one match at a time. That's why Li Yongbo is realistically expecting her to be ready only for the Sudirman Cup and nothing for all the other tournaments prior to it.
