Venue : Gimcheon Indoor Stadium, Gimcheon-KOR Total prize-money : US$200,000 Tournament prospectus : http://badmintonasia.org/wp-content...ips-2014-Draft-Prospectus-12032014.doc-V3.doc Eligible Players (version 3) : http://badmintonasia.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Eligible-Players-Phase-1-v3.xls DRAW date : 15th April 2014 All Asian's best are expected to participate BAC this year
May not be. That's just the eligible list. Not sure if BAC can really attract the top players to participate, esp with the Thomas & Uber Cups just around the corner.
Any idea on the registration deadline? By the usually schedule, they should release the M&Q report by now, not a list that anyone can compile from BWF ranking.
What will be the relation between BAC and Asian Games this year? I thought I read somewhere that this year Asian Games will count in place of BAC (so as GPG) but I can't find it any more.
According to Sina: http://translate.google.com/transla...14-04-14/12567118954.shtml&edit-text=&act=url LCW will skip BAC and pay US$2,000 fine. LD will play but a number of his teammates will have to withdraw to make room and pay hefty fines.
On the prospectus it is written that the seeding would be released on 10th april , which chinese player takes part in the tournament ?
Lin Dan set to play at Asian Badminton Championships, full article taken from Malaysia's The Star online : http://www.thestar.com.my/Sport/Bad...ted-to-play-at-Asian-Badminton-Championships/

No Participation from INA team, does it mean INA will pay a big fine to skip this tournament too? It looks like a big boycott for this tournament from the INA team
DRAW is already released : http://badmintonasia.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Draws-Badminton-Asia-Championships-2014.xls
Don't see Tian Houwei's name, last-minute withdrawal, maybe. For CHN, apart from Lin Dan and Wang Shixian, the rest are second stringers and juniors.
Oh,I see, the qualifier is Liu Kai (not sure of his age). MAS, in the absence of LCW, has their 4th MS spot filled by a certain Chong Yee Han, born 11th Oct 1994 (biodata from BWF). In WS, THA has a strong lineup in Intanon R, Porntip B, N Jindapon and Busanan O - their top 4. JPN has Eriko Hirose, Sayaka Takahashi, Mitani Minatsu and Kaori Imabeppu. KOR has Sung JH and Bae YJ. TPE has Tai TY and Pai HM. IND has PV Sindhu. In MS, looking at the lineup, Lin Dan should be well tested here, challenging considering his comeback is after such a long layoff.
