It is just sad that it happened now...especially in OG Beijing.....my friend bought the ticket long time ago ,,, just wanted to see him win in final...just smsed him and he was extremely upset and swore he would not go to the rest of Track/fields event...:(

Sad story from Liu Xiang but delightful moment for Yelena Isinbayeva as this Russian star defended her Olympic gold with new world record (5.05m) yesterday in Women's Pole Vault.

As predicted, Usain Bolt won double Olympic gold in 100m & 200m with new world record, this Jamaican sprinter is really fantastic! What a wonderful gift for 'Lightning Bolt' as today is his 22nd birthday...

Wonder when INA runners can challenge world-class ones?
Despite their best efforts, our athletes couldn't even go past the qualification races...:(

Men 200m: Dramatically, the 2nd & 3rd runners were disqualified and 4th & 5th were promoted to silver & bronze respectively.

both US men and women team dropped their baton in the men 4x100m and women 4x100m relay respectively.

US is doing really crappy in tracks. i thought they would catch up with China on the Gold count with track and field but it looks like there is no way for US to catch up with China now.

The mens was laughable, the guy could see his hand, was looking at it, but just didn't put the baton their. 2nd OG in a row US team dropped baton. GBR defending champions dropped as well.

Looks like russia will catch GB too.

Is it true NBC changed the way they count medals (total medals rather than golds) so USA is top?

yeah. so now both sides are happy. the Chinese are counting golds so they think they win. the Americans are counting total so they too think they win.

I just watched the TV broadcast.

the women's team last leg, Lauryn Williams, who dropped the baton, ran back to pick it up and finish the race despite being seconds behind. that's admirable.
