The ABC tournament. There were one year, Lin Dan, Chen Jin and TH were all here. Can't remember which year. And Chen Hong too.

Congratulations to Lin Dan and China fans!!! Lin Dan has proven without doubt that he is the most complete winner in the history of Men's Singles in both Individual and Team Events.

Congratulations too for LCW for showing huge determination. No doubt his physical conditioning, timing and line judgements were a little off in the final, but he still kept LD on court for 72 minutes.

I have said a few times, without LCW's challenge, we would not be able to see the greatness of LD. The 2 are definitely heads and shoulders above the rest, but LD was just a little fresher and had a bit more extra.

It is also time for BAM to start reducing LCW's tournament workload so that he could compete at the highest level for selected tournaments only. Send the juniors, never mind if they get whacked in the qualifying rounds. LCW won't be around for very long, and neither will LD.

nice words from abedeng, fully agree....
LCW did his best although not good enough to topple LD...
at least he is the 2nd best behind LD...
as for new juniors...whacking from opponents and us is for sure
but to be able to be the best, they have to face it...

I agree. What ever happened to all our juniors who usually do pretty well at world junior level but seem to disappear after that? We've produced many world junior champions in men's and mixed doubles but none of them - other than TBH - has made any impact at senior level.

Good summary and agree with the proposals, but send who? Daren Liew's batch or younger ones?

LHJ is a great player, LYD was so lucky to have her as a xd partner and earned a Olympic Gold with her..........

Now, LYD has missed a AG Gold after opted to concentrate in MD, and SBC is a lucky man to take this honour.........

    LHJ...indeed a superwoman !

LHJ made less mistake when partnering SBC, maybe less pressure to deliver?

With SBC she is more of a big sister, need to show and give confidence and calm things.
With LYD, probably at par and waiting for each other's initiative.

Yes, when she became the the senior partner, she showed she had the ability to lead the pair. SBC is very lucky to have had her as a partner for this tournament. I think he will have learned a lot from her. Also remember LHJ partnered a younger player in the Uber Cup as well and led them to victory. So in a nutshell, when freed from the partnership with LYD, she was able to show her own stuff.

Agree. Some people rise to the occasion when given responsibilty and develop focus and concentration to deliver. It's great for LHJ and SBC will have a lot of self belief with this AG gold. (I believe TBH would benefit similarly from having to play XD and play the anchor.)

Forget abt Daren Liew, TCS, CKB, Arif.. they have been given far too many opportunities to shine..but we all know the results
Definitely the younger ones like Iskandar, Syawal, Zulfadli, Wei Sheng..expose them now..and also please get them a new coach too!
